Rit Dye Powdered Fabric Dye, Black

simple, very strong black dye.

I had some men's shorts that were fading badly. So I bought this dye to get them back to black again. It was an easy process to do. I used a bucket, so I didn't have to clean out my washing machine after using this product. I put the dye in hot water and mixed it up, then I put my shorts in and stirred them up a few minutes. Furthermore, I let them soak for a day or two, stirring occasionally. Then I drained the water off, rinsed them a few times, and then washed them in mild soap to remove any excess dye left over. They looked brand new and still have a nice black color that hopefully will be there after many washings. I would purchase this product again if I needed it.

This still works after years. I dye my old black khaki work skirts. If you use it right the color last a long time

Wish was darker, but saves my clothes

I used Rit Dye a few times in the last few decades and it always worked. On different fabrics, and even dying a radio-controlled car's nylon bumper pink!But this time I followed ALL of the instructions Exactly, and... my red garment stayed... red. Lots of black water though!I don't know what changed, but I doubt I will ever use Rit Dye again.

The delivery and packing were top notch. It's worth noting that, if you've used this product in the past, perhaps years ago, it seems the strength of the dye is not as intense as it once was. This is no fault of the seller nor Amazon. It's the manufacturer. Like most things these days, they're making it cheaper and raising the price. To the seller: 5 stars, highly recommend.

I bought this to dye a shirt. It didn't dye the shirt a true black. It almost looked like a weird type dye job. I followed instructions. A lot of clothing is mixed fabrics so I learned that I need to buy the synthetic dye as well. Otherwise parts of your clothing will dye and other parts will stay the same color and it might look cool or not.

Since black has a tendency to fade after several washings, I dye them and it's like having a brand new item. Helps extend the life of my wardrobe.
