I've been making sourdough for about a year and a half now and bought these initially, thinking they were affordable option and maybe I'd upgrade to something nicer if I stuck with it long term. No Need to upgrade because these are great. Perfect size for my rustic boule sourdough loaves. Comes in a pair in case you want to bake 2 loaves at once. And they come with the canvas covers as well, which are easy to clean afterwards. Very lightweight and with an initial dusting of flour, the dough doesn't stick. My bread comes out perfectly round. I'm really happy with them and if I get into battards, I'll look for the same brand/company.

I rarely bake (I like cooking reasonably complex dishes, but the science of baking can be intimidating). My husband loves bread a lot though, and once I had a pot that could go in a very hot oven I decided to make some basic loaves. I found a recipe that happened to call for this kind of proofing basket, and the reviews convinced me to give them a try.I love the liner. While various sources have said to let the flour "season" the linen, and so far I have done that, I like that I can easily remove it for deeper cleaning if I need to. It does mean the flour patches on the finished loaf aren't as niftily whorled as the recipe pictures show when using an unlined basket (see my photo of how my bread came out), but each loaf I've made has been a hit with my husband and my in-laws.

Does what it says but the cloth is failing after a short time in use. If the seller would send us a cloth replacement I can revise this.

I recently have gotten into Sourdough and I didn’t want to have to buy so much stuff when I felt I could find things at home that would suffice. The one thing I bought were these bannetons and it was the greatest thing I could have done. I have not had one bad loaf and I make multiple per week. These bannetons are the perfect size and the liners are so easy to clean! Highly recommend!
