MG301-1 microGreen Oil Filter

I ran my oil for 4500 miles and then changed the regular Fram filter with this one and then added some oil to makeup for what I had lost in the filter, and what the new filter would consume, probably 3/4 - 1qt. Ran it then checked it again. Drove about 20 highway miles home, checked my oil again and was extremely surprised to find how much cleaner my oil appeared. It was at least two shades lighter in color. Has been keeping it clean since then. I plan on sending in an oil analysis once I reach 7500. Oil seems clean for now at 6000 miles. Overall great build quality for an oil filter. The casing feels like a heavier gauge than most oil filters which is reassuring. Hopefully I’ll remember to report back after the analysis is done to see how much filtering it actually did!

Arrived on time. Said it works in VW Jetta, but didn’t fit my VW Jetta GLI. Make sure you know what your filter looks like before you buy.

Great filter. I have cut open several of these after use, even after 10k miles, they look and feel really well made. Pleats are evenly spaced and the bypass disc does catch a lot of stuff. I have used them for only a few years but I will continue to use them. I have talked to the order center several times and the lady is very friendly and eager to help. I also do uoas and this filter shows better results than the non-bypass filters I'm impressed!

This filter really works!!!! I have a 05 Jeep liberty CRD diesel and tried this filter, the oil has stayed relatively clear (NOT BLACK) for 3k miles so far,not jet black in 5mi, like with a normal filter.

Great filter, I use because I have a vw beetle turbo and the oil gets black quick, this filters small stuff better. I recommend this filter.

This was a replacement filter. I put the first one on the power steering line on my Jeep. After one year I replaced it. I opened up the old MG301-1 to see how it looked. The filter seems well made. It has a nice base plate, nice pleats, and extra filtration with finer media at the top. Overall I am well pleased. I also put a cooler on the engine oil with an extra filter - the microGreen 430-9.

I bought this filter because of the positive reviews. Seems like it's doing it's job ( it's been less than a month since my oil change). I like the heavy duty construction and two stage filtering. We shall see at the next oil change if I'll be using the MicroGreen again. Does anyone know how this filter compares to the Mann and Mahle?

Very good filter, looks like oil is staying cleaner longer.
