Play Guitar With... Rory Gallagher: 16 Songs Specially Mixed from the Original Rory Gallagher Studio Masters

I have no reason to doubt the accuracy of the written content. As far as the download is concerned (and N.B. it is a download not 2 Cds) I have two criticisms. 1. there are no vocals (but you might want exactly that if you are planning on singing) 2. the backing tracks are almost complete, so you really only need to add a cherry to a cake that is already iced (this gives the opportunity to produce a perfect replication, but, e.g. Bad Penny, you will only be playing one guitar part out of 4, with much of what I thought of as the main guitar part already there). I would like it if there was also a simple drums, bass and vocals backing track option.

Authentic tab books can be found everywhere but this package has a real difference - the backing tracks are lifted directly from the studio master recordings, with the vocals removed. The tab is of a high standard, covering all guitar parts on a particular song (it is eye opening how many guitars Rory sometimes layered into a track). Even if you just wanted to jam along to the backing tracks, the package is worth the money but if you wanted a masterclass in blues based rock guitar covering rhythm guitar, lead guitar and blistering slide playing, then this book is a worthy addition to your library.

Just like the many Hank Marvin (Shadows) play along backings, we now finally some great Rory Gallagher stuff.Worth getting just for the studio backing tracks with original band.Tracks like; Bought & Sold, Moonchild and Shadowplay are the stand out tracks here I think.Tab was never my scene, but it may help younger players who never learned to listen to records over and over the old way.First class, I recommend this to anybody who loves playing blues rock.I want more now: Laundromat, Messing With The Kind and so on. Please !!

The book looks great BUT it is advertised as having two CD`s of tracks BUT there are no CD`s at all !! There is a download card / code BUT I am so useless with a `puter that after downloading [ I `hope` I`ve done it right ] I can`t find them !! I certainly can`t play them !!! Why not give the CD`s as advertised ????????????Amazon say that they will send another BUT I`m still waiting !!

Recommend you read the more serious semi - pro. reviewers. With me its not fan worship, more how the hell does he do that !!? - as a retired 65 year old ( My time now !!) - I am struggling to find time to do all the things I want to do.Will give it a more comprehensive review, in about 10 years, when I have worked my way through the bookBut it will still be 5 Stars !!

Enjoyable to try the tunes you have learnt with drum and base (and piano on some) Bit depressing to listen to your own efforts compared to Rory's original's but none the less something to strive for. Some tunes are duplcated with others in the Gallagher song book range and this book concentrates on studio/album material rather than any live performances.

Great selection of songs, good layout and first class tab interpretation.Rory still too under rated, every guitar player could learn something from this book, if only one or two Killer riffs.

If you play guitar and you are a Rory Gallagher fan you must get the book and CDs not for beginners tho
