From the Manufacturer The Dinosaurs are back. And they are moving. And you can engineer your own dinosaur to walk the Earth. These 3D puzzles become a functional wind-up toy upon completion.

Neat little toys
You have to study the instruction graphics close since they are very low resolution. Make sure all of the punch outs on each piece are removed. They do go together relatively easy. The motor is one of those simple wind up ones. The T Rex does not walk very good mainly because of the bipedal locomotion. The others walk OK. It helps the final look if you color the edges of the pieces.

super nice quality dinos
Sturdy dinos in realistic colors. Will last a long time. My one year old likes to look at them and have them eat play food. Pretty big which is good so he doesn't feel a need to try and eat them.

Two Stars
More complicated than I expected and the instructions, such as they were, didn't help.

Worth it for us, but things to consider...
WE like it, but plenty to be aware of before deciding if it's right for YOU. 1) The written directions don't really help, but the visuals in them are good enough to guide you if you have patience. It's more of a do-it-together project than a do-it-yourself unless for an older child with a knack for 3D puzzles (2) the pieces do go together easily...and fall apart somewhat easily too. Our Stego lost most of his back pieces on day 1 and it's feet after a few times walking (it still walks but is wobbly), the Bronto lost the back half of the tail - it just falls off from being picked up, not even wound-up/played with and (3) the motor on one didn't work at all from the start. That ended up being the T-Rex, who tips over anyway because the back half of its tail falls off too and then it tips forward without the tail as a counterweight. So, somewhat disappointing final products, but fun as we were building. For perspective though, our youngest is REALLY into dinosaurs and our oldest is REALLY into puzzles and has immense patience with them. So the experience putting them together was fun for them, but could be very trying for others. Also, in the end, we only got three dinosaurs that function (two of them fairly well), so it was worthwhile enough for us, and a very cool idea, but we had to work around the T-Rex not working due to the faulty motor and tipping over/no tail (I tried tape, but it didn't stick well to the smooth finish, and the pieces are pretty small, so the connector was lost before I had time to just glue it). Hope that helps in your decision.

Great fun, challenging
My daughter is 8. I found several of these kits in the clearance bin at Michaels for $1.79. I used most of them for stocking stuffers for nephews. I had two left and when my daughter was studying dinosaurs (homeschool) I gave one to her to do as a fun challenge. I was amazed at how much fun she had. It took her a little over an hour to finish - that includes the time it took to disassemble and reassemble when she discovered she had put it together backwards and the dinosaur would "moonwalk" when wound. After the correction all was good. She made the second kit the next day. Now I wish that I hadn't given the other kits away because she's begging for more. Amazon to the rescue.
