It is a durable bag

This bag proved to be exactly what I hoped it would be once the ordeal of getting exactly what I ordered was completed. I ordered the bag and it arrived exactly when it was supposed to within two days. I opened the box and the smell of the leather was so nice and upon picking the bag up and feeling it and how soft it was I knew I had made the right choice, then all of a sudden I had a problem! There was no shoulder strap, not in the box and no where inside the bag could it be found, then the fun started. After much reading and searching about how to contact amazon with a product issue I managed to find the chat option on the website and had a very nice online chat with one of amazons representatives and he informed me that a replacement shoulder strap could not be sent, my bag had to be returned and an entire new bag had to be shipped. I asked why and he said that was the policy and the bag and the strap came together from the manufacturer. So,the strap must have been missing from Piel Leather when it arrived at amazon and the person at amazon shipping the bag failed to check it out properly before it was shipped. I told him I really wanted the bag for a trip I was taking on the weekend and he assured me a new bag would arrive the next day via ups next day shipping, amazon would issue a return shipping order and I could send the bag without the strap back at no cost to me whatsoever. I must say I was on pins and needles until the second bag arrived the next day, fingers crossed it would not be missing a shoulder strap as well. Thankfully, it was not and thetwo bags were identical in appearance. The first bag was re-packed and should now be safely back at amazon and I'm the new owner of this wonderful leather bag that I love. It's a great weekend/ short trip bag. The leather is very soft and it looks great very well made and durable.

This bag was purchased as a birthday present for a man. He absolutely loves it. He takes several overnight trips and is perfect. It folds up well but has lots of room inside. It smells like new leather too!

This is a large and roomy bag with a sensible number of well-placed pockets. The strap is sturdy and anchored in the right spots to provide good balance while on my shoulder. The zippers have large pulls and move easily. And the top-side opening is large enough to add a 3-ring binder, 19" laptop, or any other largish items you may want to pack. This duffel has become my go-to bag for all travel of four days or less except when I'm bringing a suit or multiple pairs of shoes.I have been loyal to Piel products for nearly thirty years. The naked leather for which they are known is an incredibly thick top grain leather that feels great and lasts forever. Piel uses aniline dyes only so you see the true grain of the leather, including flaws, pores, color variations, etc. present in the animal hide. Because of that, Piel is very selective in the hides it uses. I have a number of items all in the saddle color and the consistency of the color from one item to the next is very high -- not an exact match, due to natural variations, but close enough that my bags look great together.

This is a beautifully made leather duffel bag; the stitching is exquisite along with the quality of leather used throughout including handles. The only reason I’m giving 4 out of five stars is due to the use of PLASTIC ZIPPERS! Every plastic zipper I have owned or will ever own has failed miserably. I can’t understand while Piel would drop the ball by not using brass zippers, this cheapens the overall quality of what could be an exceptional product! To me it’s like putting a tennis ball as a hood ornament on a Rolls Royce!

I just received this bag today and I have to say that it is really really nice. Appears to be really well built, its beautiful and the leather is soft and has no bad odor at all as so many people have complained about when buying bags from other companies. As far as size goes, I think its perfect it actually is bigger than I expected. No complaints at all so far.I was suprised to see the outer pockets arent lined, but no big deal. I forsee smooth sailing and flying with this bag.

The best duffel I have owned! This bag has been on countless trips in the past 6 months and has held up perfectly. The leather is some of the highest quality leather and the liner has held up to a few spills with no problems to report. If you are looking for a high quality leather duffel bag, look no further! I have recommended this bag to a few friends and they all love it as much as I do.

Roomy, has great storage, smells great and has looks even better. I get looks everywhere I carry. And because its soft sides, easily fits all overheads and if you must, can easily fit under the seat when those inconsiderate jerks who fly with their over-sized bags suck up all the storage. I travel 2-3x a month, typically for 3-days and this bag is ideal. Stitching is well done and the nylon interior protects your slacks and knit shirts just fine.
