Great for mounting an extra mic on a stand.
Used this for micing a tambourine that is attached to a kick peddle. Mounted a mic near the bottom of my boom stand.

Rugged construction
Beefy construction, but a little clunky to move around to get the proper tension. It does the job though. I don’t think you could break this if you drove over it with a tank.

An almost perfect DISASTER.
I loved everything about this unit, until I actually tried to use it. The mic holding mechanism is attached to the pole unit by way of a plastic "square," held in position by an incredibly weak spring. So the moment you attach your mic to the device, even the slightest movement causes the entire mic to drop. Whatever genius ruined this otherwise great design with such an terrible design flaw should be immediately fired. I am immediately returning this for a more robust mic holder that actually WORKS.

There's one critical design flaw...
The media could not be loaded. The clamp adequately grips the pipe or stand without any loose parts to buzz or rattle when miking drums, so I had high hopes this would work. Unfortunately, the mic threads pivot on two axis, and only one can be tightened. On a vertical pipe, with the threads pointed up, the assembly rotates on a spring loaded ratchet with a rivet, so it won't support anything with any weight, like a bass drum mic or tablet accessory, etc.Disappointed, but thankful for Amazon's return policy.

Useable, but with caveats.
I bought this to mount a microphone to an LP bongo stand. It took a few minutes to figure out how to adjust, as no instructions are included: rotate the cam locking lever clockwise the appropriate number of turns (until just approaching snug). I was careful not to overtighen before locking it down; the plastic seems sturdy enough, but probably wouldn't withstand a lot of abuse.UPDATE: After VERY light use, the plastic positioning adjustment nut (different assembly than described above) developed a crack and now must be tightened fully in one position and the mic won't stay in an angled position. Picture attached and re-accessing at two stars.

Cracks
Complete waste of money. Cheap piece of plastic without hardly any use. DO NOT BUY!
