Not as expected
This was not what I thought it would be. Not like the one I had used of my friends 1940’s issue as some recipes not the same

It's a book I recommend to both beginners and expert bakers. Plenty of recipes, easy to follow and the seven I have tried so far, turned out perfect. The pictures have also a retro vibe to them which adds to the beauty of the book, in my humble opinion.

The Canadian Cookbook of my childhood
Was really happy to get a copy of this book, as we had one in the family for ages and it went missing. Such great canadian recipes, completely easy to follow. A must for any kitchen!

I actually have an original (and much used/battered) first edition that was brought by my mother when we lived in Canada and inherited by myself when she died. This has long been a popular cookbook in our family, particularly with some of the cakes (the Date Squares aka Matrimonial Cake is very popular with my wife & children). The only thing is you have to know how to cook with Canadian-style volumetric measurements, but there are plenty of converters available on the web.
