Camco 50030 Retractable Transom Tie Down Strap (2” Width, 5.5’, Bolt-On), Black

We use the tie- down straps to fasten our boat on the back of the trailer. My husband absolutely loves them. They are easy to use and have held up nicely as we’ve had them for a couple of years.

Heavy duty product!!!! Well made!!!!Only draw back was the bolts that come with it were too long for my trail application, single plate. If you mount through double frame bolts would be perfect. Was able to use old bolts just fine.

It took a minute to understand the free vs lock/pull vs rachet mechanics, but once I figured that out these were very easy to operate. Installation was a breeze using a metal class drill bit. Just one simple hole in the trailer frame and bolted on. One criticism is that that bolts shipped with this do not have threads the entire length of the extremely long bolts, so for my thin trailer framing, I could not use the supplied hardware. I already had a variety box of bolts and nuts from harborfreight, so I used 4 of those with the shipped lock nuts. I'll also note that the S hooks are not quite wide enough to fit over my transom or gunnels, so I'm currently hooking them to the rear welded handles and into the oar holes. I'll either get some proper tie-down plates or larger hooks. These are very easy to use and make the loading/unloading process that much easier and quicker than using traditional tie down straps, which don't provide as much protection as these due to these being attached to the trailer itself for counter-tension.

I attached these to my trailer and I do like them but they only self retracted the first time I used them. Now I have to ratchet them in. Kind of a pain but still better than having to store them somewhere when the boat is off the trailer.

I can’t believe I waited so long to buy these. They are exponentially better than the pull-and-lock transom straps that are ridiculous to try and adjust. These stay on the trailer, auto retract and make prepping the boat before and after the lake easier. I would say they save quite a bit of headache, but anyone who trailers their boat every time they go out knows that one simple thing can make or break a day on the water. This just removes one more variable from things that could go wrong. ie. Lost strap, trouble adjust strap properly, etc. my only complaint is that mine came shipped missing the bolts, looked like they fell out in shipping (I just bought some more from the hardware store).

I’ve been excited to put something like this one my trailer to strap the back of my boat down. When I first received these, they were missing a bolt and washer in the already opened packaging. That wasn’t a big deal tho because I planned on using bigger, stainless steel bolts. Installation is straightforward.The thing that make these complete garbage is the fact that after just one time after being put in the salt water, the self retraction stopped working. And before anyone thinks it’s because I didn’t rinse, it’s not. I rinse my trailer after putting my boat in the water and then when I put it on and get home. I use salt away on my boat trailer every time I go out. They also stiffened up. I would not suggest using these things at all. I’m going to message the seller so I’ll update after.I uploaded pictures of this trash. The retraction springs corroded and expanded bad. These things are garbage. Get something better.

These replace the manual straps that I had, bolded right to the trailer and worked flawlessly.

I only needed one but I decided the replace both on my bass boat trailer because I liked them so much. Does the trick and the price was so much better than some of retailers near me.

Exactly what I wanted and its in excellent condition and great product. Came with a missing bolt and a missing nut so I was missing hardware and too much of a hassle to exchange. Sucks but not the end of the world

i have used similar style of strap and thought this would be great for on the boat trailer.when it arrived it came with missing hardware.i got them mounted and on the 2nd time using them the strap would not retractthey would be great if they worked saves a lot of hassle if they worked now they are just a pain in the a**

Installed in a few minutes and we’ll worth the money. Not sure if they won’t freeze up in Canada later in the season so I kept my old tie downs for that !

Just received 2 packs of these, and no mounting hardware included.... I suggest Camco attaches the mounting hardware in a different manner, so none of the hardware gets LOST before it even reaches a customer. Serious pain in the but to return and order new ones again now.....
