Great quality water color block
Fabriano makes teriffic quality cold press paper. It is one of the very best. This is a much smaller pad than I thought it was, so read the description carefully. The sheets are roughly post card sized.If you are new to the medium this is a good way to find out what difference quality paper makes. It is a block, which means the paper is stretched and glued. Pages need to be removed (typically) with a palette knife inserted in the small opening and slip areoud the edges.I had set my paints aside for other thing (like kids ;) ) for many years, and when I picked them back up, went looking for the quality supplies I had when I was actively painting. Fabriano is one of the brands recommended by the professor I studied with at the Rhode Island School of Design. He insisteed on our using quality materials, and many years later I understand why. This is very high quality, but it is smaller than you can find here for the price. However, quality matters,

One of the best watercolor papers
This watercolor paper is one of the best I've used. Although it's a bit costly, it's well worth it. It's 100 percent cotton and it's easy to remove mistakes made while painting. I've even rinsed some of my paint off under a faucet, let it dry and then paint over it. Unless you're using a paint with a pigment that stains, this method works well. I'd highly recommend this paper.

Quality paper
This compact block is great for studio use or packed for travel. The block form keeps the edges from getting damaged in a travel case and I found the paper weight and texture to be just what I’m used to with Arches watercolor paper. Recommend

This is very good paper
This is 100% cotton paper, gummed on all sides. It is a good quality. It stays wet a good amount of time - not as good as say, Arches, but if you are just messing around and want an inexpensive cotton paper that is good to paint on, this is a good choice. I will buy this again.

Uggh! Head's up: Measurements are in centimeters!
I've purchased these Fabriano watercolor paper blocks from Amazon in the past, because the price was reasonable and I get Prime shipping. But THIS listing inexplicably for a United States listing, is in centimeters. So, $30 for a tiny 5x7 inch block -- which is absolutely NOT good value.I also purchase from Amazon UK, where I know to convert from metric. But metric postings on the U.S. site are just a shabby practice IMHO.

Fabriano=calidad

Review for 5 by 7 cold pressed block - I love the clear binding all along perimeter
I am used to the Arches brand of blocks, for which the binding around the perimeter is black. On Fabriano Artistico, it is instead clear/invisible. It definitely holds the block together well for wet on wet techniques, scrubbing, etc. The water doesn't soak through to the next page, even though the wet page that a person is painting on is directly against the page below it, and for a long period of time. The binding around the block prevents the paper from buckling. The bound blocks are convenient because a person doesn't have to tape paper down to prevent buckling/warping that otherwise happens to wet paper.The extra-white is only slightly whiter than the traditional white. So, it is not a blinding blue-white like one sees with a fresh snowfall, for example.The Fabriano Artistico paper is more supple/bendable than Arches brand. It doesn't take on any chemical odour when wet. Unlike Arches, both sides of the paper seem equally-textured. The underside of Arches is smoother than the upside of Arches.It is all personal taste, but I am enjoying this Fabriano Artistico for certain paintings, along with the more common Arches brand for other paintings. Often, just for extra practice and interest, I will do a duplicate of a painting - one on the Fabriano paper and the other on Arches. They both give delightful results, but in different ways.
