Embracing the Beloved: Relationship as a Path of Awakening

I recently fell in love with someone who has cancer. Our relationship as been so beautiful, so powerful, but I fear what may happen in the future. This book has helped me to explore the depths of what it is to be human, enabling me to get out of the mind, into the heart, and stay present.

He eloquently pairs conscious relationship with spiritual growth and shows concretely how the two dance together. This is a foundational guide to any couple who want to move their relationship to a higher plane.My husband and I will be using this book as a key reference in a coming workshop that we are presenting called "The Yoga of Marriage."

For those who believe they have found, or are still seeking a divine partner, this is the book to guide us. For those on the spiritual path and who have found that kindred soul, a clear path to the Beloved is provided. What is unique about this book, is that the authors have done the work and now offer a guide for those of us who are choosing to follow. Moving to higher consciousness with a partner, is an exalted but very challenging path. Ever worth the effort and loving labor.

Based on the product description and the previous reviews I wanted to like this book. I have a good, a very good, long term relationship which I want to make truly great. I am sure there is some wisdom in this book but I could not slog through to find it. What the reviews called "free form poetry" is actually incomplete sentence after incomplete sentence, plus what seemed to me as flowery mumbo jumbo. In proetry I don't expect to find a subject and a verb but in prose I look for it to beat understand the meaning of the author.I am sure there are others who will find this styling appealing. I found it off putting.

I just started reading so I do not have a full review. However, so far it is engaging; the chapters are short so I can read some and then absorb. I think it will be an enlightening read.

I read this book years ago and was happy to read it again after a distance. Some good uplifting wisdom here about cultivating a relationship with "the beloved," which is the source of all things.

I read parts of this book or do a meditation so many times. I never tire of this book.

I read the book through, then started looking through mire slowly and really working on the ideas discussed in the book. I enjoy the writing style and will consider buying other books by the Levines.
