Really good sharpening plates
I use these very often to sharpen my woodworking planes, chisels and drawknives. Mine are worn now to the point of not cutting as fast, but they are still perfectly functional and show no signs of damage. The one critique I have of them is the double-sided design itself. Looking back, I'd rather not have to wipe and flip the plate in the midst of sharpening to get to the next grit. That being said, the fact that they are mounted with the tabs at the end at least gives you a good way to grip the plates when you need to move them.

iffy
I bought these to sharpen my woodworking tools. I have found that the grit rating is a bit inconsistent and that they don't wear evenly despite taking care to try and sharpen over the entire face. I also am a bit concerned that they are not perfectly flat. Based on my experience with these stones, I can't say I would really recommend them. Disappointing.

Great stone.
Great sharpening stone. It is thin, so you may have to put a block underneath it for some jobes.

Wide enough for a Richard Kell Large - Roller No. 2 Guide with a 1 1/2" Plane Blade .
I own an EZE -LAP 8" x 1 15/16" single - sided , 3/4" wood - backed sharpening stone . I needed a stone which was wideenough to take my Richad Kell , two - wheel , honing - guide , which was just under 3" wide with the blade from my block -plane . It just fits on the new stone . Plus , the 250 and 400 grits are enough to correct tools which may be off - square oruneven before I move to my final sharpening sequence . Also , the diamonds on my original EZE - LAP stone had worn downso much that it was not much use .

Not flat at all. You can see a pronounced bow with the naked eye. This is doubly frustrating due to the fact that they hype how flat they are supposed to be. Just not true. The surface wears way too fast and quite unevenly. DMT has these jokers beat by a mile. I will never buy anything EZE-LAP again.

Don't expect these to be flat.
The first test everyone needs to do with these stones is check for flatness. The coarse side was fine - the medium side (400 grit) was bowed in the center. A quick checked on my cast iron table saw revealed a pronounced bow but even sighting down the side, I could see a very noticeable bow. Not good for a tool designed to sharpen tools. I was going to purchase the SF/F version as well but this one is going back and I'll look for alternatives.

No problems with this..
I use this frequently for creating an edge...it cuts aggessively and it seems to be flat enough to give a good rough edge that is ready for final sharpening with a stone. A good value.

A must have for any hunting camp!
These are by-far the best sharpening tools for the hunting camp! I've sharpened knives and axes at the camp, at home and even carry one in my tool box at work for chisels and work knives. One can quickly put a shaving edge on any knife that will take an edge! I'll never be without one of these on any hunt!
