I bought the book to help my students prepare for the TOEIC: I needed more sample "New TOEIC" tests, specifically for the listening sections. This book does have several mock tests, and for that it is unique. But the way the listening parts are dictated is not exactly as in the real test. In the real test, voices read a conversation -listening only for the students-, then a flat-toned male voice reads the questions written in the student's test booklet; the voice in effect acts as a timer for the test-taker, who should have already answered the questions during the dialogue and should now be reading ahead the following set of questions. In the CD's of this book, the student only hears silence so the student doesn't know how long he/she has before the next set of questions. Having practiced with samples of the "real test" for several years, I found the silence unnerving. Also, i found the book level easy. I prefer my other book, the advanced level, by the same author, with Pearson Longman. My students come out of the test feeling they were well prepared.However, if you need more listening practice tests of the NEW TOEIC, this book is the only one I found.

This is helpful for preparation for the TOEIC test. (Test of English for International Communication) It has sample tests for each of the sections and includes answers. The CD's are good for creating a true test atmosphere. There is also a script included. The only difficulty is trying to follow the correct answers and script with the test--you have to have several markers for keeping your place. I have used the book with Japanese businessmen who have to take the test and they have found it to be beneficial.

today I just started reading review section...and I already found a bunch of mistakes in this book. the questions in this book and the answers dont match often.like...one of question is "last month ten boxes of food () collected ."A.is B.are C.was D.wereand answer said "money is non-count noun" the answer is "A"

The book is even more than I had expected, a very complete and strategic guide to a good TOEIC preparation.

There are too many typos in this book and too many errors in the answer section.

... my quibble are the cds: the fact that one track on the cd is not one unit in the book (practice chapters). so if you only want to do, say, target 13, you have to forward and rewind until you find it, which is very annoying. also - the listening samples of the practice tests leave you less time between the questions than in the actual toeic test. the reason, according to the book, is the fact that otherwise they wouldn't have fit on three cds. then why not make a fourth? students are already nervous anyway, and it's too fast if you don't stop for some additional time between questions. apart from that, comprehensive prep book.

Als Lehrer wurde ich beauftragt, Azubis auf diese Prüfung vorzubereiten. Da ich mit dieser Prüfung noch keine Erfahrung hatte, habe ich mir dieses Buch aufgrund der sehr guten Bewertungen bestellt.Ich habe sehr schnell einen Überblick über die Struktur und die Anforderungen dieser Prüfung gewinnen können. Da dieses Buch mehr für das Selbststudium der Prüflinge konzipiert ist, habe ich die Aufgaben so selektiert, dass ich sie gut in den Gruppenunterricht einbringen kann. Besonders gut finde ich, dass 4 komplette Tests vorhanden sind.Als Ergänzung habe ich mir noch aus der gleichen Reihe den Bridge Test für die Level A1 - B1 bestellt. Ich denke, ich werde auch hier nicht enttäuscht.Fazit: Ich werde Aufgaben aus diesen Büchern nicht nur zur Prüfungsvorbereitung verwenden, sondern auch allgemein im Unterricht einsetzen.

Das Buch ist für die Vorbereitung auf den TOEIC-Test eine hervorragende Hilfe. Zum einen werden die einzelnen Elemente thematisch aufgearbeitet, zum anderen gibt es mehr als genug Probetests, bei denen man mit Fragen ähnlichen denen im Test konfrontiert wird.Eine Einschränkung aber: Mit dem Buch wird man nicht Englisch lernen können. Es ist wirklich "nur" eine Vorbereitungshilfe für den TOEIC-Test. Dies ist aber grade für den Hörverständnis-Teil auch für Leute mit guten Englischkenntnissen sehr zu empfehlen.Also: Klare Kaufempfehlen für ein besseres TOEIC-Ergebnis.

Alles drinn, was man braucht.Teilweise etwas schwerfällig zu bearbeiten.Gebraucht recht günstig zu bekommen. Den NP würde ich nicht zahlen.

Für die Vorbereitung zum TOEIC spitze, einzig die Übersichtlichkeit ist gewöhnungsbedüftig, so das viel Zeit mit Suchen draufgeht.Aber wegen den sehr guten und umfassenden Übungen volle Punktzahl!
