Like a lot of others in here, I thought the price was a little steep, but after receiving it and working with it, it really does help a ton with tying an FG Knot!! One thing to remember when purchasing this, it’s an “Assist” tool, not an FG Knot tying tool. Use this tool to assist in tying a knot that basically needs 3 hands to tie, it does help a lot and on the 4th attempt I was finally getting used to the tool and realized just how much faster I am tying an FG knot, which is important when out fishing!! Spend less time tying knots and more time fishing!!

I probably paid way too much for this but basically it does what I wanted it to do so can't complain. Have to use it a few times because there is still a process too make everything come out perfectly but overall a great little gadget. Remember though, they don't do it for you.

This tool makes the venerable FG knot a breeze. I've watched many videos of using propping your rod against something to create tension and needing 3 hands to properly tie the FG knot, while this little tool makes it a single person job. Takes a little practice to get things tidy and lay perfectly but once you do, you'll be utilizing the FG knot on everything -- at least I am. Went from straight flouro to braid to leader on all setups outside of topwater.

NO English use instructions, all in Asian languages. Found YouTube videos on how to use. Well made, durable works as advertised saves alot of time and fumbling around trying to keep the lines tight. can do an FG knot in a minute or less.

I thought ~$40 for a knot tying helper was pretty steep. And, don't get me wrong, $40 for a tool like this is significant, but holy cow has it been worth it to me! This tool is so incredibly helpful for tying consistent and strong FG knots, and is quite nearly a necessity when tying FGs on light/slick lines - not to mention the fact that it saves your fingers from the stress of manually tensioning your lines. While I admit that this tool doesn't help me tie FGs any quicker than before, the knots I can tie with the tool are far more superior in strength, size, and uniformity than without the tool. A worthwhile investment, I believe. I permanent addition to my tackle.

Like having an extra hand when putting flora carbon line to braid. pretty easy to use with a little practice.

Works great!Arrived inside an envelope so all packaging was destroyed and THE SPRING THAT HOLDS IT OPEN WAS MISSING.I would not recommend based on shipping practices, should be mailed inside a small box not an envelope.

I've found nothing as good as the FG knot for braid to fluoro connections, and nothing that comes close to the Daiichi Seiko tool for tying it. I tie FG knots much quicker and more reliably with this tool, using 30 to 40 pound braid and 12 - 20 pound fluorocarbon leaders.FYI: I needed to first understand the FG knot, and after that how to use the tool to tie the knot. I climbed my learning curve by watching you tube videos. Once I understood both the knot and the tool, it took me a two or three practice tries before I could use the tool to reliably tie strong FG knots. (I tested the knots at home with weights.)Finally, I don't like the high price or long shipping times, and I would buy a cheaper, more readily available alternative if I could find one. But I haven't found one yet, so for now it's the Daiichi Seiko tool for me.

Bought it to help tie the FG knot on small braid and fluoro for my spinning rods. It didn’t help. However, it works great for the larger stuff I use on the baitcasters (40lb braid to 20lb fluoro).

For better information watched vids on youtube. Great piece of kit. However, not really suitable to thicker diameter leaders (80lbs+)
