Great outside of a pocket...
This is a pocket flask only in the most technical sense because of its size and weight, but it is great to have around and I have been happy with it. I bought it because I wanted a way to carry my favorite whiskey to parties without having to bring a whole bottle. This flask is great for that purpose because it holds enough for me to share with a friend, and the glass will not add any metallic flavors if we fail to drink the full contents and some booze sits around in it for a while. The bottle also looks nice, with the grolsch swing top giving it kind of an old world feel.If you are buying this to carry in a jacket pocket, it will probably fit, but it will be kind of heavy. 8.5 ounces doesn't seem like much, but that is much larger than a standard metal flask, and because it is made of glass instead of thin steel, it will be a noticeable load in your pocket. If that doesn't bother you, then by all means, it should serve you well as a pocket flask. The top seals reliably, and though it is not difficult to open, I don't see it opening accidentally. Apart from the weight and any concerns about breaking it if you should wipe out on some ice, this could serve as a pocket flask, but it wouldn't be my top choice for that purpose.

Excellent and cheap; perfect for any occasion!
These are the best hip flasks that you could buy for their price. Just some of the reasons why this bottle beat's out the competition:Pros:1. The flask is made of strong, durable glass. It's hard and thick enough to survive a fall from, let's say, your jeans pocket, and not shatter into a million pieces.2. The inward curve of the bottle makes it easier to put in pockets. It might not fit in most pairs of jeans, but it'll slip right into the inside pocket of a jacket for whenever you need to take the edge off!3. The cap seals the bottle airtight. No matter how much you shake or tumble that bottle around, not a drop is getting through.Cons:1. The metal fastener feels a bit cheap. It does its job all right and hasn't broken in the couple of months that I've had the bottle, but sometimes it seems as if it's going to snap when closing the bottle.Simply put, the pro's far outweigh the cons, and this is a sturdy, cheap bottle that you won't want to miss out on.

Great for use as a Flask
I wanted to buy a flask but kept reading how metal flasks shouldn't be left with liquor for more than 24 hours because the metal leaches something into the liquor changing the color and flavor. I decided to search for a glass option and came across these. These works beautifully! They hold a generous amount and are study and durable. I bought the three pack and two away filled with Macallen Doublewood as a gift. They were much appreciated as gifts.

First-rate flask, second-rate cap.
The flask itself is good, sturdy, attractive, and stable – ideal for containing gifts. The only reason I don't give it the full five stars is that the cap and gasket are a little small, so you have to be very careful to set it in place properly, or you don't get a tight seal. While this isn't ordinarily a problem, if you've filled it with your favorite recipe of alcoholic beverage and are in the process of re-emptying it, the more you remove from the flask, the higher the risk you're not going to have the manual dexterity to get it exactly right, and run the risk of seeing that favorite beverage tumble out of clumsy fingers and dribble onto the floor. It makes me weep just to think of those lost droplets! So, if you buy this flask, be careful with the cap, and you will be all right.

Cool-looking and well-made flask
I bought three of these: two for my mother, who uses them for cooking purposes, and one for myself, which I use for surreptitious drinking purposes. This flask definitely succeeds in the latter activity, and I believe my mom's work well in the former. They look cool and have an old-world kind of feel to them. If I get the chance I'd like to make a leather cover for the bottom half of the flask or some other artsy adornment, but I believe they're aesthetically pleasing on their own. The wire bail and rubber stopper work very well. I had lain the flask on its side for a number of days and the grain alcohol I'd put in there didn't even leak out one bit.The big negative I can think of is the fact that the bottle is made of glass and would probably break if dropped, but I'm guessing if you're classy enough to get blasted off of riot punch from a glass flask, you're classy enough to not drop it at the riot.

skittles vodka!
I made a batch of skittles vodka for some friends for Christmas, and used these flasks to hold each flavor. To be honest the vodka didn't turn out that well (the instructions did not mention the level of gross looking white floaties from the inside of the skittles or the fact that if you chose to buy middle-grade vodka you can really really tell the difference, but I digress...) but the flasks themselves were a hit! They seal really well, are visually appealing and are generally just a cool container. My friends and I drained the flasks (my skittle vodka may have turned out gross, but it's still booze) and they are using the flasks in various ways to decorate their home and chill alcohol that the whole handle can't fit into the fridge or freezer. Overall a win.

Essential picnic item
This has become an essential picnic accessory. It holds about a third of a bottle of whiskey, and is much more discreet than either a full bottle or even compared to a small metal flask. The bottle looks more like maple syrup or kombucha and won't tip anyone off to your drink of choice. It fits easily into a cooler or picnic basket due to its slim profile, and the slight curve nests perfectly next to an aluminum can. It grips well in the hand and pours smoothly. The glass does make it somewhat heavy, so it's not something I'd carry around in my bag all day. But it's perfect for day trips, tailgate parties, car camping, or picnics. I'd recommend pairing it with a Stanley metal shot glass set for the perfect party on the go.
