Breakout Platinum Edition

Miley Cyrus's material really had to grow on me. I think the first song that I mildly liked was "One In A Million" from one of the Hannah Montana albums. But that was pretty much it. Speaking of Hannah Montana, I really dug her show. I thought it was on the cutesy side but there was nothing wrong with that. As for this album most of the songs I can easily say I dig. This CD has a mix of pop, pop rock and even lightly touches on dance pop with "Fly On The Wall" which contains some of my favorite verses. I just love the way she sings them in such a commanding way. What first caught my attention though was the first single "7 Things" way back in 2008 when it was popular. It's a cute little pop song with a little rock edge about loving and missing someone even when they make you cry at times. "Breakout" the title song is also fun. The aforementioned "Fly On The Wall", the thoughtful "The Driveway", the quite pop-y "Full Circle" and the beautiful ballad "Goodbye" are actually my favorite tracks on the album though. They all have that special something that I adore. All of these songs are quite catchy too. "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and "Hovering" are adequate but I don't find myself listening to them over and over (the latter is a bonus track). "Someday" is catchy and my favorite of the two bonus tracks.Overall, I'm pleased wih this effort. It actually surprised me in ways because some of it is so mature. For Miley anyway. I do wish she had a bit more attitude when delivering her pop rock songs like she has on the bridge of "Fly On The Wall". More of that needed to come out of her. But on another positive note I was really impressed with the fact that even though she probably didn't compose/arrange any of the material, she had a hand in co-writing 10 of the 14 tracks here. I love it when an artist contributes to the lyrics! I'm a huge fan of the lyrics first. The beat and everything else seems to follow as less important.4.2 stars.I will edit this review after I watch the DVD extras. I'll probably adjust the score accordingly too.

This CD really places Miley as America's Rock Star. It is well-done with a lot of attention to detail on Miley's part. Her rewrite and re-make of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" is absolutely GREAT! "Wake Up America" ushers Miley into the world of Green very well. It is a new avenue and endeavor by Miley to contribute. "Bottom Of The Ocean" is a great Ambient Rock breakthrough and her remix of "See You Again" is outstanding. All of her songs on this album have a different but simple and deeply indulging message for people of all ages. It is NOT just one of those girl-boy relationship sets, though it may sound like that at times. The messages are well thought-out and play to/from the heart in many ways, you just have to listen! It does not set Miley apart from Hannah though it does enhance their relationship and public image.The DVD's and pictures included in the album are very good and help explain or show Miley's feelings when singing the songs.The album truly is and will be one of Miley's "Greats."

Great early Miley CD tracks, go for the DVD bonus tracks !!!

Miley has become a contender, she has a beautiful voice. I for one think she knows it is time for everyone to let her grow up. I love the grown up direction she is heading in with her next two albums she is releasing, Can't Be Tamed and Bangerz? I bought both on reserve before they were released to the public and buy any new music she releases. :-)

One of the big surprises when it came out. Talented as she is I didn't think it would be one of my favorite albums of all time since she just finished Hannah Montana and now I would rank it up there with any artist's best.

My daughters Liked Hannah Montana but they like this cd because it is still like her Disney music but not too far out of what she was doing before she went and did some crazy music. My daughters enjoy this and another cd of her's.

I purchased this CD of Miley Cyrus for my Granddaughter for Christmas. Therefore as yet, I have not listened to it. It was on my granddaughters list of ideas for Christmas Gifts. I am excited to hear it after I give it to her on Christmas Eve.Cathy from Taylor, Mich.

Miley does have a good voice and some talented writers/musicians behind her and proves it with this release. The bonus songs, too, are strong. The entire album is quite good and bridges that gap between her Hannah Montana life and her own career.

i never thought i would like this young woman, but she is very good, once one gets past the very bland,shouty, first couple of tracks, i can now listen to those tracks that didn't impress me, but listen to the whole thing...i'm 61...and responded much as my parents did to my music, thought it would be rubbish...it's not

The original album is amazing, as are all of Miley's. If you don't have Breakout then buy this instead! However, if you are a proper Miley fan (like me) and do own Breakout I would still urge you to buy this! The acoustic sessions are amazing with Mileys voice shining throughout. Also included are the Disney Channel Games performances, again these are amazing! It includes the 7 Things video, a making of the 7 Things video and the two Miley, Music and More episodes from Disney Channel. A must for everyone!

Had this when I was younger but was re building my cd collection again it amazing album ❤️

Miley's album is fantastic. Most of the songs are really good, as well as the dvd which shows Miley performing some songs from the album. The songs i liked were The Driveway which is a ballad

my daughter likes it - honest i didn't buy it for me - spoilt brat perhaps {not my daughter} but the girl has a nice voice
