Like the title says it is mostly great. Comfortable,light weight and VERY breathable. It only has two down sides. The strings are a bit annoying as they rub on your ears. The second problem is it's a bit too light so a decent breeze will blow it off your head. That being said everything else is great about it

I ordered this hat and another similar branded by Dorfman (Safari Hat) to see what the extra $20 would provide in terms of quality or finish.After detailed examination of the labels, the materials, stitching and workmanship I am absolutely certain that the Panama Jack hat and the Dorfman Pacific Co hat are made in the exact same factory in Sri Lanka, and by the exact same people and machines. The stitching, fabric cross-overs, hems and folds are identical, not similar, identical. Label is different. Moreover, all of the tags are identical, even down to the same lot and run number.Panama Jack hat has some stickers, nice hat box and welcome letter, and that is what the extra $20 over Dorfman pays for (plus likely the Panama Jack brand licensing). The material, workmanship, quality is EXACTLY the same.Weirdly - I ordered XL in both, and the Panama Jack hat doesn't fit as well. Slightly loose on the head, and attribute that to quality control.

I hesitated to order based on previous reviews showing poorly packaged products but wanted to leave a review to update on that aspect. The hat arrived fully formed and supported in a box fitting of a hat this size. No deformity occurred as a result of packaging. Would purchase again.

My husband loved it.

Definitely lightweight but I immediately returned the hat because it felt stiff when I put it on and because of that stiffness I seriously doubt that it would stand up to any kind of serious use and would be easily be damaged and out of shape. Unforgiving construction.
