Out of the box it seems somewhat flimsy. Assembly was easy and once that is done you see that the wood is of good quality and the easel is very sturdy and pretty easy to adjust. It is light weight making it easy to move. I have had other easels of heavier wood and some what different style that I love and this one holds up very well in comparison to those. The price is great, as easels can get very costly. For me, this easel is a winner!

Great easel. Easy to put together, looks great, and has a lot of great little things that make it adjustable to meet your needs. I love that I can adjust the height of the easel, the size of the canvas it holds, and the angle that it sits at. It is also light weight and easy to move. However, that makes it a tad unstable at times, but not so bad. I love it and am so glad I bought it. I thought it would be more cheaply made for the price but it looks good and works really well.

This is a beautiful piece of work!! I'm so impressed. I've never had to use an easel before & am looking forward to getting to work! My friend showed up just in time to help assemble!! She thot it was VERY nice, coming from the art world. Instructions a little confusing, but we usually figure it out. 2 things: don't have enuf rm to cross my legs & when you slant it you lose the tightness on canvas!! It's sturdy & just what I need & the price was right. Good buy!!

After looking at several different like items, ended up with this easel due to reviews on ease of assembly. It is a Christmas gift so not yet used with a painting mounted on it but assembly was easy and once assembled appeared stable for painting. It was also equally easy to take apart and return to the box. I took off one star because of the potion of the easel which moves up and down to stabilize the painting/canvas did not glide or move well. I spent a few minutes and used wax to help it glide and it worked somewhat better. Overall, great value for the money!

Needed a real standing easel with a mast to hold the canvas. I set it up initially extending it to it's full height - I'm only 5' and it's perfect for me. If you're tall and using it as a standing easel, it's too small. That being said, I never took it down once assembled but it is fully portable and very sturdy when properly set up. Definitely a bargain.

This review is for the portable tripod easel.The bad first: This is a great easel . . . except that the product description is simply false. The product description clearly states, "canvas holder's height capacity up to 44." I have attached photos where you can see the canvas holder capacity is 31 inches at its max. While you could rest a larger canvas on the supply tray, you cannot secure a larger canvas for angling or storage. When only rested on the supply tray, the canvas easily falls if bumped, etc.The good: If you are looking for a portable tripod easel for canvases 31 inches or less, this is fantastic value! As with all of show maven's products, the designs are well thought out, the parts are sturdy, and the use is pleasing. This easel easily folds up and includes a handle to carry it around if you need to take it somewhere.Overall: I really really needed a tripod easel that matches the product description, and I am surprisingly very unhappy that Show Maven persists to keep this false product description displayed on their ad.

I would definitely recommend this easel. I'm impressed with the quality, especially for the price. It's very sturdy and looks really nice. I love how much you can customize and adjust it too.I was going to buy an aluminum easel but then saw how flimsy they were in the reviews... So I opted for this wooden one, which is so much sturdier. Don't get a crappy metal easel - buy this one instead. I am a very experienced artist so take my word on it!

Easy to assemble, very sturdy and functional! Great quality for the price.
