Good Grief: A Companion for Every Loss

This is one of the best books for grieving. I've read a few, but this is by far the best. My fathet recently passed, and this is the book I'll turn to.

This book helped me years ago when I went through an early miscarriage. I have bought a stack of them to have on hand when friends or relatives need help. I've given the book to people who have lost loved ones through break ups or death. It's so helpful to understand the stages you go through as you grieve.

Great book for anyone dealing with loss.

I have gifted this little book to friends and family for many years. It was a big help to me personally when I experienced loss during my divorce and my father’s passing. Both at the same time. Highly recommend.

Everyone processes Grief differently. This little book offers help.

I purchased after my mother passed. The content was just ok. I was really expecting more out of this book the way it was advertised.

An short book that is easy to read in a couple of hours and mostly covers the well known and "googleable" stages of grief. Unfortunately it comes from a biblical perspective that offers bible scripture sprinkled throughout to support the stages of grief. The stories are outdated (man goes to work, wife stays home). Leaders of churches offering counseling and grief support may not fully understand the depths of trauma and grief. Someone with religious trauma may not like this book.

This little book is very helpful during grieving. It was written before the Kubler-Ross research on the stages of grieving. It emphasizes that we grieve over many disappointments in our lives, not just death. It also discusses phases of grieving & that there’s no definite pattern through which we pass. I buy several at a time to send to friends who are experiencing grief & loss.
