Just what we needed

Read the reviews and still decided to try this out. It’s great starting out the transitional swaddle. I got the zippadee without the strap at first and it’s completely needed so your baby’s fade isn’t covered when trying to sleep. We’ve been having a hard time out of the swaddle and I’m hopeful tonight this strap will give my baby a few more hours on her own.

This was ok, I didn’t use it much because the sleep sack fit a bit oddly. But the sleep quality seemed ok , there wasn’t really any weight to it, it was soft, durable, and easy to use.

Recommend buying this to use with the zipadee zip. It helps the suit from bunching up in the babies face. You can just use a hair tie to pull it from the babies face but this seems more secure and i think he likes the little bit of fitted feeling on his belly that this gives. This fits well. However i have washed it a few times and it sort of affects the Velcro that sticks it together. It’s cheap so i don’t mind buying a couple more.

We used this with a standard sleep sack when transitioning our baby from her swaddle to the arms out sleep sack. This really helped to apply that extra compression to keep our baby happily asleep at night. Easily adjustable. We only had to use it for a little while, but it worked wonders.

This didn’t help my baby at all, maybe others had good experience but I felt like I paid for a gimmick.

Our baby slept so great in her swaddle, but then she started showing signs of being ready to roll and we immediately started transitioning out of the swaddle. We initially tried just the Zipadee Zip, but she would wake up about 10 minutes later every time we laid her down in her bed. Then we tried the Merlin’s Magic Sleep Suit, and while it worked, we were only getting 3 hour stretches, where before in her swaddle we were getting 6 hour stretches. She also seemed uncomfortable in it and it was difficult to snuggle her and rock her to sleep with such a bulky suit on. I ordered this to give it a try and we’re back to our 6 hour stretches.

It does what it says but could be designed better for the price.- The curved shape around the ends causes it to curl and not sit flat.- Velcro area is so big that it’s so loud taking it off it startles the baby.- The type of Velcro that’s on it sticks to everything even if it grazes it. Can be frustrating.It does prevent the fabric from bunching over the baby’s face but it’s kind of a hassle to keep track of and to use. When I don’t feel like dealing with it I still go back to the hair tie method.
