Michelin Paris Plan Street Map No. 54 (Maps/City (Michelin)) Map – Folded Map, April 15, 2010

This map is large! 54" wide and 39" tall. It's a good map to lay out on the table and plan your day or vacation in Paris. It has a map of the entire city on one side and a street index on the other. It has two things which I'd like to see improved.1. The paper quality is typical or slightly thinner than most maps. You have to be careful with this as it won't hold up to abuse. I would not carry this around the city in your coat pocket. You could, but it's just too big. Get the laminated "Streetwise Paris" for you're every day map.2. While it does have Metro stops. it doesn't show the lines on the map. It is on a secondary side map, but I'd like to see it included in the main map.Again, a good map to get an overview of the city, but you'll need a big table to lay it out.

I was recently in Paris and, for the first time, stayed in the 11th arr (district). I had excellent maps of central Paris, but none showed the 11th arr. area where I stayed. So I bought this map before I left and I'm very glad I did. This is an excellent map of Paris within the Boulevard Peripherique, the Paris ring road. I would not recommend it for those who are staying in central Paris for a few days, because guide book maps and the "Streetwise Paris" map are sufficient for people focussing on central Paris. I would, however, recommend it for those who plan to venture outside of central Paris.

Advantage: the map is big and clear. It is also on one side of the page so you can estimate distances and routs easier.Disadvantage: the map is HUGE which makes it impractical. The paper quality is poor and your marking may soak to the other side. I would suggest marking with a regular own only and not with a highlighter. (As for highlighting maps, I always use a pink, so it rarely blends with the other colors of the map)Overall the map is good to use in your hotel room to plan your day.

It is a very thorough map, but large enough to be difficult to use as we walk, unless we mark our goals first anf fold it so we can go section by section. I was hoping that a legend would be used to identify markets, museums, shops, etc.

Most other maps fail to show the whole city with necessary outskirts. This one shows it all. If you are really traveling around, it is the best one. The paper holds up fairly well (we used it extensively for 10 days) with little damage and with great effect.

This is a great map for planning your journey in Paris. It's a big map and the scale is 1:10,000 so the details are large and readable. Perhaps too big to take on your walk around the Citi but very good for planning. I use it all the time along with a pocket sized book of maps of each district. You can find this map in nearly every Kiosk in Paris.

A perfect map to find smaller streets that would not appear on the usual map, and to lay out the day's travels, but really to large to comfortably refer to while on the go.

Accurate but the paper did not last long. After just two days, there were tears in the creases.

Perfect ! Just what was need to navigate around Paris and Metro. Much more useful than the little touristy maps. Well used now so may need to get another when I go back

Easy to read and perfect for the job of navigating your way around Paris - useful with 'The invention of Paris' book, (by Eric Hazan), which assumes you know the names of every street....

I really like big fold-out maps of the city. This map has very good detail, including the galleries and arcades, passages and impasses. Inevitably, with this level of detail some of the text is quite small. This is fantastic for planning walks in advance. I combine it with Plan de Paris par Arrondissment, a super neat little book that slips in your back pocket.
