Stanley 42-470 48-Inch High Impact ABS Level

Very good product for the price. The level and the measure are useful when hanging something big on the wall. I used it for hanging a 48''X60" mirror on the wall and this was the perfect fit for the job. Built quality is also impressive. It can take a little every day household job abuse easily. May be not suitable for construction and contractors but for a household this is more than enough.

I bought this specifically to hang mirrors and frames on the wall. We all know how fun that is. It worked like a charm. The measurements on the side are super helpful. It levels perfectly. It's also light so your arm doesn't ache holding up on the wall trying to mark measurements, and it also doesn't scratch the wall since it's plastic. This is a great deal! Do it!

Purchased this to help install a door. Although I would agree with other reviews that this is maybe not the highest quality level I've ever seen, it was perfect for the small job and regular around-the-house jobs I will need it for (I am NOT a professional and will not need to use this on any sort of regular basis).If you are a professional that will need to use a level on a regular basis, I might encourage you to get a heavier duty level (this one is in a plastic frame that I could see after extensive use might chip or the numbering and markings on the side might wear off) but if you're an occasional level user, I think this is the perfect fit!

I believe that you can rarely go wrong with an item that has great reviews. However, the reviews fooled me on this one. I bought this level to replace one that I have had and used frequently for about 10 years, but eventually developed problems.As soon as I opened up the package with this new level, I laid the level on the kitchen counter. The bubble was slightly to the right, so I knew that either the level or the kitchen counter was not straight. I flipped the level around and the bubble was slightly to the left this time. The problem was not a crooked counter top!The only other issue that was a little bit discomforting about this level was how flexible it was. When it was laid across my counter top, it was slightly bowed. I pressed lightly on the level and it straightened out. I wouldn't have returned the level over that issue alone, but it is a consideration that buyers should be aware of.I immediately returned this level and spent more money on a better one. Some reviewers said that this level is "good enough for do-it-yourselfers." I disagree with this statement--unless the DIYer is okay with building things crooked!

I was very impressed with this level. For the price, I expected a flimsy piece of plastic that could be easily broken -- on the contrary, this is very sturdy and not at all likely to fail. Moreover, it has a very handy set of measurements on top, which is great for quickly estimating distance when working on a project. Most of the super-cheap levels at the local home store didn't have that feature.

I found this stanley level on Amazon and the price was great. Got the level in 2 days, used it to work on my garage and was exactly like it is supposed to be. Stanley products are just as good as the more expensive ones. I am just a weekend carpenter and I own a lot of Stanley tools.

Compared lengths against my tape measure and noted that this level is about 2 millimeters off for some reason? Unfortunately when millimeters need to be exact for a project it matters. Still deciding what to do with it, the level works fine but the whole point was to be able to measure accurately at the same time.

What a great deal after Christmas on this level, been wanting one for long time from Stanley just like this one, very happy with it, lightweight, strong and durable, level works fine, like the easy to read black numbers in yellow background. Perfect for me.

Lightweight yet strong, easy to see if left laying around where it shouldn't be, measurements on the top have proven to be extremely useful, and the top read ability has also been useful. Happy with my purchase!

It levels

This is ok for plastic... but do yourself a favor and buy a metal one. The point of a level is to be straight. Plastic bends! That said, it's good enough for rare occasion if you are looking for something not expensive.
