I've been looking for a hat like this for years, mostly because of childhood memories of reading The Catcher In The Rye – To date, I hadn't found a red hunting cap that fit my requirements until now.There are several good points to this hat which I consider sets it above the competition.1). The brim is split. It has a divide down the middle, so that when it's on your head it forms a full hat brim, but which allows it to fold cleanly in half and fit into a bag very easily. I was initially worried because I thought the brim would lack firmness as a result, but after wearing it for a while I can say for certain that there is nothing a traditional brim can do that this split brim cannot.2). The fabric of the earflaps and neck protector is warm, but also still very pliable. My coat has a collar which often causes other hats with a neck protector to ride up and obscure my vision, but because of the fabric on this hat, that's not the case at all.3). The size fits me very well, as someone with a 60-62cm circumference head. It could probably fit someone with a 64cm head as well.All in all, zero issues, and some benefits I wasn't expecting at all. If you're looking for a copy of the hat Holden Caulfield wears, this is your best bet – and as a warm winter hat, it certainly does its job in addition to looking cool.

I love this hat! I originally purchased it for a costume piece, but this winter it was very cold! Wore it all the time and it was perfect!

I saw at least one review that said this hat was poor quality. What??? It is a very nice hat, good quality, much nicer than I expected. At a great price!

I just received this hat, and while it hasn't been cold enough to wear it quite yet, I'm excited for when I'm able to. It's incredibly warm just from trying it on in my house and can tell it'll do the job nicely this winter. Seems well constructed and the price was great too.

Cheap GARBAGE

This hat has all the features I wanted: snug protection over my ears, easily washable, a visor to keep snow and rain off my eyeglasses, sleek style, black color to match my winter coats, and a reasonable price. Thank you for shipping it to me promptly! I can now enjoy my walks on cold, windy days.

Its really soft and comfy! Looks cool and is very warm when the flap is down.

Buying for a farmer but don’t know head size. It’s one size but has toggle at back to alter size. The straps under chin also have option to alter. Fur feels good. Hope hat it is waterproof!

One size fits all? No one size fits some but not me! Chin straps were a good 10cm too short, couldn't fasten it, returned.
