Business Card Holder by Niftythingz. Black Leather/Stainless Steel Card Case. Gift Box Included.

I recently went to a training and networking event where tons of business cards were exchanged. I was wishing I'd have had this Business Card Holder at that event, rather than trying to keep my business cards, and everybody else's, tucked messily in my shirt pocket. I think this Holder will help me keep my business cards straightened out, and look much more professional in the process.This case has black leather on the top and bottom sides. Seems it's sometimes difficult these days to tell "real" leather from "fake" leather. The leather on this case definitely smells like leather. There is silver-colored chrome (?) around all four edges. The hinge on the back side is very secure, and the clasp on the front side "snaps" shut properly and securely. The inside of the case is lined with a firm, black material ... perhaps made of felt?I use extra thick business cards, and just fit a dozen standard-sized business cards into this case comfortably. For the business cards of "typical" thickness, if there is such a thing, you could fit in something more than a dozen cards. For me, this is enough, but not too many.On the front of the case is glued a shiny metal plate with the "NiftyThingz" logo on it. It's attractive, but watch out for fingerprints. You'll likely find yourself polishing the plate off with your shirt tail or dinner napkin to keep it pretty and shiny.

Its very solid, clean and professional looking.But the locking mechanism really bugs me. I don't know if its broken or what but the clasp gives no indication of whether or not its closed tight. For how solid it is, I expect a click or something to indicate when its locked, you keep adding pressure looking for some feedback on when its locked but it never comes and that is a little worrisome.Other than that Its a very nice product to work with.

I have a major issue with this card holder, and it's not the look and presentation of it. As far as the looks and presentation of it, the company does a really good job with that. Even the box it comes in makes it feel premium. But when you don't ensure that all of the glue used to hold the leather to the frame is off, then I have a problem. My card holder out of the box was sticky to the touch with glue residue coming out of the sides, and what's worse is there is glue on the front of it, right above the metal engraving tab. Seriously!? I was hoping it wasn't glue so I took a damp paper towel to it and it simply would not come off. To make matters even worse, when a dry piece of the paper towel rubbed the glue all the paper towel fibers got stuck in it, and now I have a white mess right on the front of my card holder. I was/am so frustrated that I took a picture, but I don't know how to upload it onto this review.I give this card holder 2 stars because I don't "Hate it", although I'm close, but I definitely wouldn't buy it again. Sure the premium presentation is nice but not when I'm going to have to hide it when I go to grab a card. I payed nearly $20.00 for a nice box and a card holder with glue on it. In reality, that's almost as much as a stack of cards themselves. I should've just bought a cheap holder for $5.00 and called it a day. Nope, I'm upset and I don't like it; 2 stars.10/10/14 Edit: After posting my original review I was contacted by Nifty Thingz's, Lesley Knowles, looking to rectify my situation. This came as a shock to me because I didn't expect anything from my review; I was simply giving my account as to what I received. Lesley promptly sent me a new business card holder which I just received today, and I am pleasently surprised. It's night and day compared to the one I initially received. I very much appreciate the outstanding customer service becuase it's something you just don't get too much of nowadays. Based on my experience, I give the company 5 stars when it comes to customer service.Now for my new edited review, I gave the product 4 stars because simply put, it's great. I know what you're thinking, "Well then why not give it 5 stars?" Simply because although it's great, it's not perfect. I had my original experience which was bad and now this experience which is good, but although my replacement is great it has a hitch in it's hinge. It's not smooth upon opening it. This is a minor issue, and if this was the first one I had recieved I would have given it a 5 star review. I'm very pleased, but I've had one bad product show up and my replacement also has a minor issue. So because each one that I recieved has had an issue I feel it's only right to dock a few points.Factoring in the great customer service and quality of both of the items I recieved I would like to give a 4 1/2 stars review, but that's not an option. So in the end I give the products 4 stars, and I give the company and it's customer service 5 stars. Again, I appreciate being taken care of and many thanks to, Lesley and Nifty Thingz.

I read reviews very carefully. I had a shiny card holder. I had read the reviews before I bought it and it looked okay. But it did get scratched, it did show fingerprints and finally, something that wasn't in the reviews, the catch was really difficult to open and a nail breaker. Fortunately, I lost it. Looking to avoid those problems and based on the reviews I purchased this one. It was heavier than I expected but if it's going to last it has to have a little heft. Also, if it isn't in my pocket I'm more likely to notice. Leather, so no fingerprints. It can be engraved, a nice touch. Somebody mentioned its use as a convenient mirror. True. The catch works nicely, not too tight, not too loose. It has a full length hinge, unlikely to loosen. My cards are thicker than some, still it holds a dozen. I'm going to try very hard not to lose it.

Was excited for this product as it was advertised correctly, looked beautiful in the pictures provided, made with real luxury leather, and it was extremely inexpensive compared to other products listed.Unfortunately, the product I received was a dud - glue stains on the metal sides, leather has a few scratches, interior has a bit of rust, and the leather could be peeled off easily. Also, the feel of it was a bit off and sticky.I would return it if I could, but it may be too late. Shoppers be aware of these defects.

It looks nice, but has a tacky silver plate with their brand name on it. I almost messed it up trying to pull the plate off! I thought it was an engravable plate so I could put my name on it. And to make it worse, their name is written in BIG splashy letters. Also, it is lined with a velvety fabric instead of plain metal, and the fuzzy stuff rubs off on my business cards making them look dirty. I would not buy it knowing what I know now.

Bought for hubby, really pleased with it, good quality,smart and fits in a top pocket.
