Ease of use
I have been using the traditional rod brush for years to clean my chimney which always proved a bit of a chore due to the stiffness of the rods. The chimney typhoon system uses much small diameter rods which are very flexible and coupled with the smaller head pushing it up the chimney is easy. With the drill attached and the head spinning if gives a very thorough clean with a lot less risk of damage to the flue or liner. The drill can be run forward or reverse should you need to change direction in off chance that the head snags. All in all this is is a vast improvement to the traditional brushes. The kit has all the necessary components, just be sure to order the correct amount of extension rods, I purchased the 10 metre kit.It is worth noting that the bristles are fixed to the head with a screw clamp system which would enable new line to be fitted should the need arise. The line is basically a few strands of heavy duty strimmer cord.Very good system.

It works!
We have an 8m chimney with two bends in it, which needs frequent sweeping. An ordinary brush never really did the job. This really gets all the soot, and most of the tar.Though simple to use, having to take a section out every time to add the next one is a bit of a pain when there are 7 sections to add, but overall it is brilliant, and I will never go back to the old brushes

Great product but make sure you order enough rods
Great product and everything you need is supplied to clean your chimney. Be sure however to calculate the correct height of your chimney and order enough rods. Slight difficulty in disassembling some rods after use, but resolved with a little effort.

Better than the old rod and brush cleaner
We have a log burner with a fairly narrow flu which was a right pain when using my old standard rod and brush set but this bit of kit made the job so much easier it also brought down a significant amount of soot it also took less than half an hour from start to finish a very impressive and well thought out chimney cleaning system it was all a lot cheaper than paying a sweep to do it.

Simply an amazing bit of kit :-)
So many chimney sweeps these days will only sweep a ‘lined’ flue, will not attempt ‘traditional’ so had to go it alone. This was perfect, so simple, WHY do we need to pay extortionate money to people who don’t want to work anyway ! Costs less than 1/4 of one sweep ( assuming you can get someone to do it anyway ) well worth it. Really simple to use. No issues assembling and de-assembling at all.

Great product
Simple to use just take it nice and easy on the drill button and it does a great job will have this for the next few years so no need to pay 70 euro for chimney cleaner to do the exact same job

Does the job well
Hi. I bought this about six years ago on Amazon and I’ve used it several times in three different houses, eight if you count neighbours. I may be tempting fate but, when used with my makita 18v drill it has never let me down. The rods are very flexible and although the brush looks a bit bare and scabby it does does an excellent job removing soot and,of course, you get to sweep up and down as you remove the rods.My chimneys have been five, seven and ten metres (rods). I did a neighbours at twelve and it was spotless when finished.Only four stars?….you’ll see from the description the rods clip together as you push the brush up the chimney and unclip as you descend. Simples!! However on occasions, I’ve found the little recessed clips that hold the rods together sometimes stick. Not the end of the world and can be dealt with quickly with a dry lube ( not wd40 cos it’s wet and attracts soot) but frustrating when it happens especially if your sitting with a pile of soot at your feet. It takes minimal practice to get the hang of it and and it’s very simple to use. Just duct tape cardboard over your fire opening cut a slot for the rods, have your henry handy (with a new bag) and make sure your drills charged. Update 15/9/23…Just a word of caution…I continue to use the chimney typhoon and regularly sweep my own chimneys (3). I was cleaning one of the chimneys yesterday and found one of the rods would not stay locked in place ie when connected and the drill started the rod simply disengaged and came loose. On inspection I found the hole the pin clips into had worn/enlarged and wouldn’t allow the next rod to engage. This unit has seen a lot of use and abuse so I’m not surprised it’s showing signs of wear but DO CHECK your kit. If that had come loose up the chimney I’d be you know where without a paddle. Time for new rods I think.

Works well
Flexibility, cleared soot and build up much better than my old Bruhes, that are now in the skip.More flexible so build up that old brushes went straight past GONE.
