Great book about keep trying
The illustrations are very pretty making the book great. Itโs not only the pictures, the writing is also great. A child will pay attention when you read to them because the words have a soothing flow. The best thing is the lesson kids learn; never ever give up.

Favorite book
I bought it for my friendโs 2 year old and she was enthralled by it. Beautiful, colorful pictures and a great โkeep trying until you succeedโ message. Months later it is still her favorite book.

I Think the Crocodile Would Have Eaten Them All if They Didn't Fly
Whoever Heard of a Flying Bird? has been formatted to be read in landscape mode (holding your device horizontally), where it takes up the entire width of the screen . Words and pictures display together on the screen like a traditional picture book open to two pages (or one long page). A lot of self published Kindle authors can't be bothered to format their work and it displays like a mess with bits of text on one page and an image on a small part of the screen on another, so I always like to take the time to point out when authors care about their reader's experience and their own work enough to take the time to format it.The book promotes never giving, especially if others are mocking your efforts, laughing at you for trying and that sort thing. So that's great. But with the illustrations, you can't help but notice that they are birds that can fly, so it makes little sense that they would have a ground existence and never learnt to fly. As this means they have to mate, nest, find food as well as water and escape predators on the ground. Illustration at start and end of story shows a crocodile, so if you're on an island, there's no way small bird legs could outrun, a crocodile. I think the story would have worked better if they were kiwis, or emus, cassowaries or some sort of flightless birds (or just some fictional bird drawn like one that obviously can't fly) and the bird that wanted to fly, invented some way to do so, to get the ripe fruit and everything else it wanted to do.

A nice little birdy who didn't want to quit
I will ceratinly reed it more then once to my kid. The type of story that teaches the wright attitude - how to never quit. It has fine animation and lively colors. I liked it, my kid liked it. Warmly recommend this little bed time story.

Cute story with good message
Great story with a positive message. The words read smoothly and rhyme nicely. Only criticism is that the story climax (the bird flying) is somewhat skipped over.

Good message
The quality of the book is very poor and you can see this best in the printed artwork on the very thin pages. Typical low cost Amazon printing. The message is good but story lacked a good flow for me and the end was too short and expected at least a double page of pip flying around enjoying what she had achieved before helping others.

Beautifully put together
I love this as no matter how many times you fall, who laughs at you if you believe in yourself something magical will occur. I love the simplicity of the fact and the beautiful illustrations. A fun book.
