I use this type of blade for woodcarving and have for years. Historically, Xacto's quality was pretty good. The blades I received from Amazon were made in China and, though new blades, are very dull and virtually unusable. I have had to send them out for honing by a professional knife sharpener. I would not order these blades again and suggest you relay to Xacto that they need to review the quality control procedures of their Chinese supplier of these blades because they are of inferior quality.

This is a very maneuverable carving and whittling blade with a longer cutting area than next Xacto curved blade. This longer profile makes cross grain cuts more precise and thinner blade minimizes chunking of the wood. It feels good.

I don't know why but they want me to rate these as TOYS? They are razor sharp! Also I don't think they fit the pen-shaped Xacto knives, only the D handle and the new fatter black plastic handle

I do a lot of tabletop display artwork and cut a lot foam board into complex shapes and this blade shape, longevity and precision works well.
