I own about 15 different makes of jump ropes and this is now my favorite. The handles seem to be just the standard speed rope handle wrapped in grip tape but I love the way they feel. This rope is great as it comes from the manufacturer but you can make it better with a simple modification. If you remove the screws and place cylinder clips (typically found on adjustable PVC jump ropes) at the ends of the cable you give it a second pivot point. This allows you to do side swings without getting the rope twisted. Just put the screws in a plastic bag and put them inside the handles so you don't lose them in case you want to change the set up back to the original way. Also, you can insert lead fishing weights wrapped in plastic into the handles for a more heavy duty work out. There is plenty of room and it doesn't interfere with the bearings.Even without the modifications it's a really great rope.

I like the light weight of it. But I don't like the screws it has to tighten the rope. I'm afraid that it will come off and won't be able to tighten the rope after the screws are lost. Just one setback. But other than that I do like it. I understand the purpose of the screws is to adjust the rope length. Actually I have the extension wrapped around my hand to conduct my jump rope. I recently got double unders and I owe it to this rope! My gym has jump ropes but a lot are worn out with the cable showing through which was killing me when I whipped myself. I bought this and over the last week have gone from the occasional DU to stringing at least 5-6. Happy camper!

This is the best jump rope I've used and is a well thought out product. The bearings provide a smooth long lasting rotation. The hand grips are comfortable and seem designed to allow an easier snap of the wrist. The adjustable cord is convenient for various users heights and different surfaces, in grass I like a shorter cord, and the durable cord can take years of use on any surface. I've had the 2.5mm SweatGear rope for over 5 years so I can attest to the quality and durability. Excited to see that same quality in the 4mm rope I received recently! Shipping was fast.

So far I have tried the thinner jump rope by SweatGear and now the thicker. Both have their benefits and I can appreciate the different techniques you must use to control the jump. I am now warming up at the gym or at home by jumping rope and couldn't feel better. My endurance has improved and also my jumping skills. The grips fit your hands so well and the ball bearing handles are the smoothest I have ever used. Definitely recommend both sizes ropes for users and people looking to get in better shape.

The screw holding in the cable flew out and disappeared. I had tightened it with a screwdriver. Now, this rope is useless.Update: Seller reached out to offer a replacement rope. Impressive customer service. Changed from 1 star to 4 stars.

The jump rope needs adjustment based on your height. The item did not include instructions. I figured it out based on previous jump rope purchases. I tested out the product during my last workout, the ball bearings, and the grip makes the rotation smoother. It does require sharp wire cutters. I purchased the 4mm width.
