I'll Never Get That Time Spent Reading Tape Reviews Back
Let me clear this up for you real quick if you're not willing to lose time on tape: Duck Easy Start and Scotch Sure Start both tape things together. If that is enough for you, feel confident that this product will do your bidding. All I was going to do was buy an 8 pack of packing tape for shipping artworks I sell. But, then Amazon Reviews got in the way. I can't get that time back, but I can spare you by writing this review which I will cross post to Scotch Sure Start. There are two major brands out there, Duck and Scotch, and many more. I'd been using a no name tape and it was fine, albeit would occasionally get stuck to the roll as tape is prone to do without a proper dispenser. After reading countless reviews of it's the perfect tape or it doesn't stick, I chose to buy a sample of each. Last night I began my Christmas shipping. Guess what, they both stick! There are some minor differences. Scotch Sure Start is thinner tape than the Duck EZ Start. It didn't tear any easier, so I was still glad to have the dispenser teeth. The Scotch comes on a true 3" core roll, so you can reuse the dispenser with an 8 pack of rolls. The tape sticks to cardboard and paper.IF yours doesn't...you must realize that it requires pressure to adhere. Air bubbles, dust, or not pressing down will allow carelessly placed tape to come loose. It's not one and done. I pack artworks -I make sure it's stuck, tight, and more than one piece. If you're taping moving boxes with a real dispenser (has handle) and you don't press the tape with your hand, it's going to come loose where it's not stuck to another piece of tape. The Duck EZ Start tape is thicker. Truth told, I used it more on my recent packing. Can't say exactly why, probably its thickness. But with this thickness, and maybe the dispenser style, the tape occasionally twisted up, but not so bad. I tore the piece and moved on. As for the Sure and EZ start thing -I did notice that, on each brand, I did not have to peel tape off the roll. Why? It seems they both leverage anti-static somehow, but I'm no rocket scientist, so who knows. All I can say is both are generally frustration-free. I'd say I had more air bubbles on the Duck tape, I attribute that to the thicker tape, but then, as I said, I used it more than the Scotch on this job.And then there is the weird complaint about noise. First off, I'm not packing in a baby's room. So what, there is noise. But yes, the two both make noise when you tightly stretch a long piece around a box. The Duck, for those who concern themselves with the noise, does sound like the long croak of dying frog, but I could make the Scotch to do a similar, if slightly higher pitched, version when I pulled real tightly. This difference is likely connected to the tape thickness. So, if you don't want noise, don't pull long pieces of tape tightly. My only frustration with the Duck EZ is the lack of a 3" core, which you can get without the dispenser, so the dispenser becomes a one time use unless you look for the 1.5 inch core rolls in an 8 pack. I suspect Duck EZ in 3" core will fit on the Scotch dispenser, and I'll end up using that no matter which brand I buy.EDIT: The OTHER frustration is throwaway dispensers! If you cannot easily find 1.5 inch core Shurtech EZ Start or any Duck branded tape for that matter to refill the dispenser, then Shurtech is part of the problem, not the solution. At least Scotch uses the standard size 3" core. The 1.5 inch core is great for smaller hands, etc, but NOT if I cannot refill the thing.Hope that helps -it's a pandemic, be with your work and the ones you love, and buy this tape or that tape -it works when you press it down and enjoy the sound of frogs.

HD Clear vs HP260 vs EZ Start
I bought all three of these Duck brand tapes for a move, and they are quite a bit different from one another.HD Clear: Thick. Easy enough to tear, once cut has started. Weak stickiness. Good for taping stuff to a wall without pulling the paint off later. Horrible at taping boxes together. Within 24 hours it had literally fallen off, on its own! Do not use for packing boxes unless you want all your belongings to crash onto the floor. Luckily I had taped up my boxes long before moving. Not sure what the HD stands for, but it's not Heavy Duty, I can tell you that. Good for safely taping things to walls, but not much else.HP260: Thick. Strong stickiness. Not easy to tear. This is the stuff you want to tape up your boxes. Will definitely take paint off walls. Will not go anywhere. You will need a knife to open your boxes after using this tape. I would choose this type to mail things with. Actually heavy duty, professional grade stuff.EZ Start: Thin. Like it says, easy to tear. Maybe too easy. Like aggravatingly easy, when you're trying to get a full strip going. Comes with an dispenser for a reason, but still a pain to use. Also not particularly sticky. Good for taping plastic tote lids onto tote bottoms, for a move, say. Not so good for brown cardboard boxes or mailing or anything that needs to be permanent. Weak and thin.HTH.

Ok, now .. Let’s stop with the foolishness
This tape should be the ONLY packing tape that is sold. It’s Quiet, Smooth, and restarts so easily if you lose your spot on the roll..(LOVE IT)..Now, about the other foolishness!!!!!!! I recently ran out of this tape after using it for about 6 months. So I stopped at a shipping store (mind you), and picked up a roll. (SMH)….. C’mon y’all this is a disgrace. First of all, don’t try to pack up something in the middle of the night. One strip woke up my dog, the kids, and I’m sure the neighbors dog. AND DON’T (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD), let the tape fall back onto the roll. I was picking, and scratching, and having heat flashes just trying to find the starting point of the tape, that wound up coming off like strings of shredded paper that I couldn’t get to line back up to use again..OMG!!!!!! I will NEVER take this EZstart tape for granted again, NEVER!!

Best Packing Tape I've Ever Used
Being an active online seller, I go through a lot of packing tape and cannot afford to be without a good packing tape product on hand. I love this tape! It works all the time, every time. It is strong, crystal clear and adheres wonderfully to every surface on which I've applied it. Retrieving the edge of the tape from the roll, if it happens to pop off the dispenser, has never been a problem or difficult to manage. When I do need to retrieve the tape edge, it has never begun to peel or split. Every roll is dependably sticky, enabling it to always adhere beautifully. Considering the fantastic quality of this packing tape, it seems to me that it is sold at an unbelievably, reasonable price. This is my 4th package, re-purchased through Amazon, after buying my initial package at Wal-Mart.If the quality of this tape ever lessens or changes I'll be sure to update my review - but for the past 2 years I've been happily stuck with this tape - No pun intended.

What the hell happened?!
I don't understand how this tape has such good reviews. It makes me wonder if I got a dud? First off, the adhesion was very medicore, I might as well have used scotch tape. Secondly, 20 ish yards??? I've used this to just seal 5 boxes and it's now almost empty!!The only good thing I can say about this tape is that it is thick and doesn't split. But even with the dispenser, the end piece of tape wouldn't stick to it so I had to keep peeling it off of the roll anyway! If it weren't for the tape not splitting I would have returned or tossed it out. Thank god it was so cheap so I don't totally feel like I got ripped off here.. Definitely ordering a different brand now!

Best packing tape ever
I bought some Canada Post packing tape. What a waste of money! Used it once and then I couldn’t find where the darned stuff started again. I had a roll of the Duck brand around that was almost all gone but just enough left to seal up another package. Ordered this from Amazon to replace old roll, but you can get better deal and more than twice the quantity of it from Canadian Tire.
