Excellent Dog Food, One of the Best Choices We Made
We have fed this to our pup for about a year now and we have been nothing but pleased with the results. Health checkups have always been excellent and he enjoys the food. Though every dog is different I will explain our personal experience with our Male Australian Cattle Dog.-First of all, the quantity of food. We usually went through about a bag every two months. Our pup was for the most part self feeding. We would put out the recommended portion given on the bag, and he would eat it throughout the day. He seemed to be filled up quickly by it and that was awesome because I feel it was hard for him to over eat. He digested it very well and had a very regular schedule.-He loved the food. For the first 4 months that we had him, we used nothing but the bits of dog food as incentive and treats for training. It was great because it was feeding him within his daily amount and it was portioned perfectly.-He is now 1 year old and is healthy, active, and strong. One thing that is super noticeable is that his fur is still incredibly smooth and soft despite him blowing his puppy coat. His nails are very strong and aren't brittle as well.-The only thing that could be considered a "con" is the pretty much ever present flatulence. This is a normal and expected effect of the digestion grain free diets. Though potent, we can live with it...Overall, I highly recommend this food. I have not tried the other flavors, however soon we will be transitioning to and adult diet and may experiment. I can vouch for the puppy formula 100%. Though expensive, you end up buying less and getting a whole lot more.

Puppy loves it
My puppy loves the taste and I like that they are crunchy and not too big. The weight of the bag is just enough for a one month supply and doesn't smell the house up. The ingredients are great because my puppy is gaining weight and has a shiny coat.

Nothing but good results
This food is AMAZING!!! I rescued two puppies (Boxer/Lab) two days apart (that was an accident I assure you), but they were both sickly, one more so than the other. The first we rescued had digestive issues. They had been feeding her very cheap food. She had bathroom issues... It wasn't pretty - we will leave it at that. Her skin was dry and her coat wasn't very soft and the shedding. OH the shedding! The other puppy showed up two days later wrapped in a towel weighing 2 pounds! She really shouldn't have been away from her mom at this point but woe is me. She was so skinny you could see every bone in her little body. She had a huge pot belly from worms, and the amount of bite marks on her was so sad... She had bald spots and scabs all over.We did a bit of research on different foods and this one stood out. We wanted a grain free food that was also high in protien. We started them on it right away. We did not switch them slowly as it is recommended. Partly because we didn't want to pay for that cheap food, and partly because of the urgency of nutrition needs of the smaller one. They have been on this food for two months now, and bazinga! No more shedding, no more bathroom issues, no more bald spots, no more scabs, no more sick puppies! Our vet asked us which food we chose because he was so impressed with the results. Everyone that sees them says how awesome they look compared to when we rescued them. They are both now in their ideal weight ranges, and perfect check ups every time now.The older one has cholitis, and has no problems with this food. The little one couldn't eat hard food when we got her, we added just a tad of water to soften it and it worked perfectly. The bag is resealable.

It's Good, But As Others Have Mentioned, May Cause Gas
We feed our 5 month old pit this food. He seems to love the taste, but then again he will eat pretty much anything. So far, he seems to be healthy, has lots of energy and a soft and healthy-looking coat. The only negative thing we've noticed is that he has terrible gas sometimes and his poop smells really bad (worse than average dog poop). He also has diarrhea every now and then, but we feed him a mix of kibble and raw chicken/beef, so sometimes if the meat isn't all that fresh he will have indigestion. It's also worth noting that, in general, the more expensive the kibble, the more caloric it is. That could also be the reason this kibble causes bad gas and stinky poo: it is very dense in calories/nutrients and high in protein, there's no filler like rice or grains. In my opinion, this is a good thing. Especially for a growing puppy.I should warn that I've never tried any other kibble with this dog, so I can't say whether or not this one is any better than other brands like Nature's Variety. We may switch it up in the future just too see what happens, but for now we're sticking with Wellness CORE.This is definitely one of the more pricey kibbles, but if you feel like it's worth it and it's really improving your dog's quality of life, then why not spend the extra cash?

Review of Wellness Puppy for a Havanese
This is a review of Wellness CORE Puppy food based on a bit more than two weeks of use. My Havanese puppy came to me from the breeder on Life's Abundance, a premium food which also met my standards (not made in China, etc). I wasn't initially inclined to change it. However, his digestion was somewhat inconsistent, and he was gassy. Starting at 14 weeks or so of age I decided to try him on Wellness Core puppy based on the positive reviews and the fact that I had tried some Wellness treats with him, which he likes and seemed to digest well.So far, his digestion is much better and has improved as I have moved him off of Life's Abundance (I was gradually mixing in the Wellness Core at first). The kibbles are a bit bigger (I would say roughly 5 mm/ 1/4" in diameter each). than the previous food but still very much accessible to a puppy of his size (currently about 6 lbs). The 4 pound bag is a reasonable price and a good size; I expect it to last about a month for him, if not a bit more (he eats about 3/4 - 1 cup a day). Finally, his coat has stayed as healthy and shiny as it was on his previous food!
