It's not news that the old Pravana line of styling products has become Nevo. I tried this Nevo Total Fixation Gel not sure if it would be at all like Pravana Bold Defiant Design Gel that I loved so well. I am told by a Nevo customer rep that the formula is similar but not identical. I will tell you that the old Pravana Bold Defiant Design Gel had more hold and was a more sticky on the hand when using.I still have some of the old Pravana Design Gel and put a dollop of it in the palm of my hand, side by side with Nevo Total Fixation Gel and they appear nearly identical. The new Nevo product behaves similarly to the Pravana Bold Defiant Design Gel, but with a bit less hold.I have shorter, thin hair that has some natural wave and this is one of the few styling products I can use that gives my hair some volume and control without weighing it down. It doesn't look or feel greasy, crunchy, or look flaky. Additionally, some gels just define my wave where I prefer a straighter, sleeker look and this provides that for me! This product also helps me skip the flat iron totally or just use it sparingly.The bottom line:I preferred the old Pravana Gel but will use this Nevo Total Fixation gel as it gets the job done. I will continue to search for a bit more hold and better value.The only downside when compared to the old Pravana product is price. This bottle is 7.43 ounces and costs more than the old Pravana gel that came in a 10.1 ounce bottle!

My son loves this gel. He likes to spike up his hair. It holds well for several hours.
