Best way to start my wood stove
I am replacing a small qty of Fatwood sticks that I've used up. Fatwood is simply a great product. With one stick and some kindling, I can have a roaring fire in my wood stove in minutes. The routine I've worked out is to place a layer of kindling down-about 5-8 sticks, then place a perpendicular row of kindling on top, using a fatwood stick in this row. Next I place a couple larger kindling sticks on top, finally a large piece of oak. One match is all it takes to light the end of the fatwood stick, open the damper, shut the wood stove door and walk way. In 10 minutes I have a roaring fire going! The fatwood burns for a longer time than regular kindling, so it really gets flames spreading quickly. No more newspaper to start fires. Made in USA, sustainably harvested and works terrific-what's not to like?

No muss no fuss, just blaze away
Okay so I live in the sticks and firewood around me is hit or miss on weather its dried and seasoned. I carefully select my firewood (usually black walnut or oak) and split the wood. I have never not had a raging fire using fatwood. And since I have a fire practically 5 times a week during the winter, I am vigilent about cleaning the stack every two years. My last cleaning by a local chimney sweep was a surprise in the he said it looked like our fireplace had hardly been used,,,,,I attribute my "clean Flu of health" (no residue in the chimney) to fatwood....great stuff!

Easy fire starting solution
I have been used to using newspaper for fire starting since I was a child. As a former Boy Scout, of course, I learned some alternate methods for use in the wild, but for fireplace purposes, it's often easier to rely on paper . . . that is, until I came across this product. It is possible to light narrow sticks using a match, then use that to light other sticks under the firewood. Once lit, they burn with a good flame that has not failed to ignite my fires to date. There are enough sticks in the box to light lots of fires.

Graet item!
Shipment arrived a day early, I was thrilled, this is a good deal when you consider the price of fat wood at a big box retailer I have enough to last for a few years and it keeps well in the garage over the summer. This is one of the best fire starters and least expensive my fires start very quickly and it only takes one or two sticks to get the fire going. If you burn a lot or wood or go camping you must have this item.Enjoy!

Pays to look around
I burn a couple of cords of wood each season, so I like to use fatwood as a starter. Prices vary so I spent some time looking for a good deal. The price on this bundle was one of the lowest (as long as you don't mind buying 50 lbs.) This box will last me a couple of years at least so it was a good buy and it was delivered in just a few days.

HOT flame and fast starts!
This is my second box of fatwood and one 50lb is perfect for one year of occasional inside and outside firplace fires. They light pretty fast and they burn sooo hot so that it only takes 4 or 5 of them under a well stacked set of logs and you have a good burning fire. One of the best ways of starting fires Ive ever used.

Easy Firelighting
A little pricey, but worth it, these fire starters last us all winter. They are good for a trouble-free blaze every time, easy and clean to handle, and "fragrance" free.

Not as easy to light, thicker pieces than I'm used to...
The fat wood isn't as finely chopped as some I've had, harder to light. But it's decent fat wood and the price was right. ;o)
