Elmore Leonard: The Classic Crime Novels: A Library of America Boxed Set

Damaged. (And replaced.)
Library Of America is supposed to be second-to-none in printing quality, but the first volume in this set ("Four Novels of the 1970s") arrived badly damaged due to an error in the printing process. Too much glue was used to attach the endpiece inside the front cover, so the wet glue spilled out over the top of the volume and then dried, gluing the first 50 pages or so together, making it impossible to turn a page without tearing it.The books themselves are great. But I bet you know that.(PS. They replaced it and it's fine. I bet your luck will be better.)

Beautiful bindings, paper and print quality
The publisher really put money into this boxed set with semi glossy paper, razor sharp printing and secure binding. It's almost contradictory to read Leonards gritty crime novels in such beautiful books instead of pulp paperbacks. But Elmore Leonard's style is so compelling, you won't put the story down. He was a master of colloquial speech, and his exploration of the criminal mind will have you looking over your shoulder. It's no wonder so many of his stories went to the big screen. Highly entertaining, and a nice heirloom for your library.

Great novels.
Terrific Library of America set incorporating 3 volumes of Elmore Leonard novels from the1970’s, the 1980’s and 4 great later novels. All incorporated in a sturdy box.

The type is small but the boxset is great otherwise!
