Too many dead birds
The work is incredible. Great artistic skill. BUT..way to many dead birds. Dead birds. Really? If there is a message here, I missed it.

Beautiful artwork, needed to be curated better.
The artwork is outstanding but I wish the editor had been a better curator. Some of the photos (which are fabulous) are almost identical and other parts of the art pieces are no where to be seen. These leads to multiple pages of the same part of the same art piece while mother parts have no close ups. There is a lack of diversity across the artist work which exist only in this book not the body of the artist works. Overall the book is lovely and I kept it, however, if I had had the chance to look at it before buying it, I would have skipped it and waited for a more cohesive collection of this work.

Wish had known more...
When I first found out about this book and saw the cover I'd got excited especially seeing the dragon head so I ordered the book. Once the book arrived and I started going through it page by page I began to wonder if the author or the embroider was responsible for this. If I were to publish a book of my embroidery, and I am a embroiderer this most certainly would NOT be this book. Have this pages I understand are closeups of his pieces but many of the other pages are totally unrecognizable. I felt that at least 20 to 30 pages were wasted due to someone's view of "art".I did enjoyed the embroider work that was done for the costuming for Game of Thrones. I would have paid double on a book for that alone, unfortunately there were only about 10 pages if that devoted to this.

People who Sew are Painters, too.
I was trying to find a book about Embroidery for my Sister for Christmas & was suggested by Amazon based on books I've read before. This isn't one of those "How to Make the Most Perfect Stitch"🙄 books: It's going to Inspire a whole range of Artists who don't think they are Artists because they don't (usually) take a paintbrush to canvas. It's got Gorgeous photos of Fiber Artists' work & it's Inspiring.

Visually spectacular! Inspiring.
What a gorgeous addition to any costumer or designers library! Exquisite photography. Michele walks you through her work with interesting detail. As a profession tambour beader and designer/seamstress for tv, film and live events let me assure you this book is a must have!!

So disappointed...
I'm a huge fan of Michele's work however this book has really disappointed me. The images are so repetitive and so badly photographed. They're unpleasantly out of focus - a good photographer would have made all the difference. The last chapter is wonderful but the rest is just repetitive padding.

More of a photo book
Stunning photos and little writing, very pleasing on the eye could be a good book for inspiration. However when it arrived the double sided sticky tape used for packaging was stuck to the back of the book.Unfortunately there is no outer sleeve that I could have removed. Which meant I have returned the book.

Dark and Unique
This book is really wonderful and really enjoyable to read. I’ve found myself going back to look at the incredible details in each piece and I always spot something new I hadn’t seen before. I’ve seen a couple of less positive reviews on here and really don’t know where those people are coming from. The pieces in this book are astounding and I’ve loved it so much I actually bought a couple more copies for my creative friends.

Very average
Expensive for what it is and dreadful layout. I wouldn't bother!
