A stunning read
This is the first of this author's books I've read, and it most certainly won't be the last! What a special story this is...really evocative! I absolutely adored the characters, especially Bea and her beautiful patient husband. The whole thing is simply breathtaking, from the setting in Mid Wales to the magic and mystery as the story steadily unravels.I blubbed at the end as it was so moving. Historical, yes, but never boring, and quite honestly, I never wanted it to end!Looking forward to other books by this fabulous writer.Five stars!

Enthralling.
Barbara Erskine is an amazing writer. Her books draw you right into the middle of the story. Although works of fiction, she includes a lot of historical facts into her books.I'm hoping that there are more books to come.

An interesting, long, historical fictional read!
This was an interesting but long read. I had to remind myself it was really fiction as often it appeared to be fact but it wasn't of course... I've debated whether to give it 3 or 4 stars, however 4 for overall story but 3 for the jumping around between periods in chapters that often got confusing.

Beautifully woven fiction
I love how Barbara Erskine weaves strands of past and present, myth, magic and the modern day together to create spellbinding stories and this book is one of her best. I was entranced by the stories of Elisedd and Eadburg, and Bea and Emma and didn’t want it to end. Highly recommended.

I love Barbara erskine but have struggled with her latest offerings…I’m halfway through this book it’s ok..but I just feel like nothing has actually happened. Maybe it will get better!

the dream weavers
I loved this book. I haven’t read a book for a couple of years and once I started this book I finished it within 4 days. It had me within a couple of chapters, right through until the ending. Highly recommended.

Barbara Erskine has been one of my favorite authors for more years than probably either of us would care to admit. Wonderfully entertaining wonderfully written and wonderfully warming the heart.
