Worked like a charm
My daughter received a thicker than most back back (hybrid stuffed animal/backpack) in the image of one of her most beloved characters from my brother for Christmas. The zipper slider fell off and she was upset.I took it to an alterations place to see if they could fix it. They kept it a few days and I was ultimately told 2 different alterations experts were unable to fix it.Lo and behold I found this on Amazon, had it on the backpack in less than 5 minutes. Very easy to use.I reinforced the zipper by sewing across the zipped up zipper a few times to stop the slider from falling off. Not sure if this will do anything but I felt right.

Don’t waste your money
I had high hopes for how expensive these were (for 30$ I should have bought a new jacket). When I opened the package, they were all slightly ajar. I had pushed one closed. It was super easy to do, not realizing that permanent closed the zipper. Annoying…. But my own fault I guess. At least there’s several.Second one broke in my hand. Also annoying. The only directions are what you see on the back of box. Which just say “take off old zipper and put on new one” I got one on my jacket and I had installed it upside down. Also annoying but again, I guess it’s my own fault.I finally got the third one on the jacket and it wouldn’t zipper up. Like the teeth of the jacket didn’t come together. My husband intervened at that point, thinking I used one that was too large. We broke that one off (again once it’s closed they are permanently closed) and we put a smaller one on.That was too small and we needed to break it off.I got the last medium on the jacket for the 400th time and it also didn’t zipper up the jacket. The teeth wouldn’t come together.Putting in a zipper is pretty simple, we looked up videos and it should have been smooth…… not sure if I got a defective box.The quality seemed really good. Like ligit metal, then when the one broke in my hands I realized maybe it wasn’t really metal.Very disappointed for the money paid. Should have just bought a new jacket.

It really works! (requires some finagling though)
Okay so I *just* fixed my jacket yesterday so I can't speak to how sturdy this repair is -- seems solid, but I will update this review if it turns out to just break off or whatever. Meanwhile, it works! I'll be a little more specific...First, I can confirm as the other reviewers mentioned the design flaw where there's an inexplicably sharp little nub right where you'd naturally grab to pull your zipper up and down. Wtf?! Why is this here? Serves no purpose, so we Dremelled it off with apparently no loss of function. The other thing I would like to mention is that it took a lot of effort to snip the original zipperhead (which was metal) off the tracks. In the video they make it look like it'll just snip right off easily but in our experience we really needed a bigger cutting tool (and a lot more force) than was demonstrated here.PRO TIP: if you're not sure what size will work, you can try these out *without* snipping off your old zipperhead first. Just slide it out of the way, and then connect the two sides of the zipper tracks together at the bottom where they naturally meet, and fasten the replacement head there where it either will or won't fit. Once you've got the correct size and the new pull is working you can then clip off the old zipperhead (or return the ones that don't work and try another size until you get it right).Anyway, this took about 10 minutes and some youtube googling but it saved a favorite jacket so whoo hooo!!! Definitely think it's worth a try. Good luck with your repairs!

It works for certain use cases
First off let me say that I think something happened to the Zipper Industry over the last couple of years. Like maybe Supply Chain issues have led to lower quality zippers being used when clothes are manufactured. I don't know that for a fact but over the last two years I ended up buying two new Winter Coats that were both in the $150 range. So, not cheap coats but also not top of the line super expensive ones either. The zippers on both coats broke within a few weeks of wear. So I was looking around for some way to deal with the broken zippers without having to buy yet another new winter coat. That's how I found these zipper replacements. This review is for anyone looking at these and wondering if they really work...They work but only in a certain sense. They aren't like having the original zippers on the coat but they do make it possible to zip up the coat again. The metal ones I got seem fairly sturdy. All that being said I don't have confidence that these will last very long either. If you have a broken zipper and you want to put off finding a permanent fix or buying a whole new coat, these will get you by. I appreciated that.

Parfait
