Handy Item!
My phone has a poor battery life and often dies when I'm out. Having this on/in my backpack is reassuring as it doesn't require a outlet. It holds a good amount of energy and does a good job of charging my phone when in a pinch. While the solar charger takes a fairly long time to reach full charge (18 to 24 hours in good/direct sunlight, i believe. So a few days usually) given the surface area of its mini solar panel, I doubt that could be improved much. I typically keep it on/in my backpack, but set it on a windowsill after use so it will recharge faster in the constant and direct sunlight.Alternatively you can also simply plug the charger onto the wall to get it to full charge. One thing I was not happy with was the quality of the clip / carabiner that comes with it. I love the idea! When I first got it, I clipped it onto the outside of my backpack so it would get sun whenever I was outdoors. Unfortunately, the clip broke a few weeks after I got it. Now I charge it fully on a windowsill before putting it inside my backpack for a safety charger.Overall, I think this is a really awesome product with a good design that reassures me when I am out and about without easy access to an outlet. It hold a good amount of charge but does take awhile to recharge using only solar power. The carabiner / clip accessory include should be made stronger but generally serves its purpose.

Only used it once, but works great!
I did not realize from the product description that the charging cord that comes with this device is for older model cell phones. Mine is an Iphone 6S, which is older, but the provided charging cord does not work with my phone. But, since the other end is a USB, it was easy to switch it to use with my phone's cord.My husband and I took this charger on a hike and I clipped it to my backpack during the hike to see how well it would charge up. Even through the trees, it seemed to charge fairly well. I had already charged it fully by setting it out in the sun because it does take quite a long time to charge--it is solar powered! We bought this for an emergency phone charger. For that purpose, I think it works great! It isn't something that you'd want to use on a regular basis, but for hiking or in your emergency kit, it is just the thing! The case is rubbery and seems very sturdy and able to protect the solar panels from harm. The provided clip is very flimsy and thin, though. I don't trust it to hold it to the backpack for long. So, other than that, the item works just as described! I recommend this product if you're looking for a great emergency phone charger for hiking or natural disasters.

Wireless charging is a little lacking
I bought this solar charger for a trip to Hawaii so I could use it on the plane as well as when hiking. I initially charged it using the power cord. It held a great charge from the start. I did charge it via sunlight and as the directions state, it could take 36 hours which seemed to be the case. As long as you’re just keeping it topped off then solar is just fine. The only issue I found is the wireless charging part is grossly underpowered. I followed the directions precisely and mostly couldn’t connect and the few times it did, it would disconnect a few seconds later. The only way I could charge wirelessly (on an iPhone and a Samsung) was to remove their cases and make direct contact with the charger. This seemed very impractical as everyone has a case on their phones. My parents had the exact same issue on the one they purchased. I used the power cord though and it filled my charging needs.

Seems like a great product
I got this particular solar power charging bank on a lightning deal and didn't research any other ones similar to it. I got it to put in an emergency kit. I have charged it by the cord, and when I plugged my phone into it, my phone was being charged. It seemed to work well. Because I haven't used it very often I can't say its a 5 star bc I don't know how long the battery will last, or how many charges it holds. It could be a five star product though. Two things that I didn't care for as much is that it takes a long time to charge it via solar power(I think the instructions said 24-48 hours). I dont have much experience with solar power stuff, so this may be very normal, but I just didn't realize it until I got it. Also, the little plastic/silicone protector cover that goes over the plug to charge your phone keeps popping out and wont stay in place very easily. It is recommended to charge it by the cord while you have power bc it is so much faster. Makes sense, I just didn't think about it.

It takes a very long time to recharge the actual charger
Let me start with what I love: the size; does not take up too much space so it’s a blessing to carry around. Very sturdy! Multiple-use entries so you can change multiple devices. Although it is a solar powered charger, you are able to recharge it by simply plugging it to the wall like any other charger. In the same breath, that was the part I was disappointed with.. I honestly expected to be able to function with this charger without having to charge it the good old fashion way. The instructions in the insert say it would 40+ hours to charge back up via daylight/sun so if it dies you won’t be able to use it, at all, right away. I’ve had mine by the window for a whole week and I’ve yet to reach the third bar out of the 5. I think I charged my phone about 3 or 4 times before the power ran out. I don’t know what a standard charger is able to charge so I don’t know if this is good or bad. I’m also a little puzzled by the on button as it has no way of turning it on or off? I’ve left my phone connected only to come back and find that it turned off on its own leaving my phone not charging ...us this because the battery drains so quickly... I’m rating it a 3/4 star because it was not clear it would require so much time to charge solar-ly. Nonetheless, it works! And at the price point I guess you get what you paid for..
