As others have stated the instructions are quite poor. They are only shown in the video other than a very nondescript picture they provide. The video does not go over how to make the knots very well and I would not consider this beginner friendly. It also said to message them prior to leaving a review if there were any issues. So I messaged them asking for step by step instructions as other reviewers say they were provided; however, when I asked for written step by step instructions they messaged back telling me to consult the video. Quite annoying for them to say message with issues and then to send me back to the same thing that caused the issues…*EDIT*Rating changed from 2 stars to 5 stars due to sellers communication. Quickly after review seller contacted me regarding the item. Seller refunded item and sent replacement item.

The final product is amazingly beautiful, but to get there was a pain! The directions supplied are crappy and hard to see. The price is obviously beige/off white and the background of the demonstration is white. There are NO explanations… just a follow what I do video. I should add that I tye dyed mine prior to creation just because 💙

I'll preface this by saying that I bought this because I thought engaging in a tactile activity would help me cope with the grief from my grandmother's passing.After attempting to put this together for nearly a full calendar week now, let me say:Next time I miss her, I'll just conduct a seance. It's cheaper, simpler & may actually imbue me with peace of mind.For starters - everything about this is (and I hate to use this word) redonkulous. The kit does not come with any instructions. It comes with "tips". One of the tips is to "prepare the glue yourself" because it's not included in the kit. That is not a tip - that is a necessary instruction in order to start the project!Glue could not be sent with this package due to shipping hazards - but they included a massive "string razor" as if that is totally cool and safe and chill. I still don't know how to safely pass someone a pair of scissors, but you've provided be with a questionably dirty weapon of potential mass destruction - OK.Anyway. I foolishly thought that this kit would be like the 1$ macrame plant hanging kit from target. Some casual measuring and knot tying - no big deal. (buzzer noise). WRONG. I haven't even gotten to the actual macrame part because I'm still trying to string together the fricking moon. The Moon. I'm just a woman, I do not have the qualifications to string together a fricking moon.Luckily for me, one of my roommates is from Sweden so she can help me figure out the metric measurements (if you've gotten this far into the review, it should come as no surprise that I do not know anything other than the fahrenheit system). Actually one of the only redeeming parts of this kit is that it's given my roommate and I time to bond. She sits across from the table, doing homework and being a productive member of society as I curse and fail to stitch this thing together for the 18th time. But I'm assuming not every kit comes with a verified emotional-support Swede, so you're not getting an extra star for that.Secondly - thirdly - fourthly - wherever the heck we are, the instructional video is a joke. Even the person in the video struggles and continues to retie the project. Maybe it is actually the most honest instructional video out there because it shows the strife of the modern human. The video is cursed regardless - the background music makes me wish I was born without the ability to hear music, if you dare speed up the video you miss about 84 million important steps, but if you slow it down you feel harkened back to the era the Great Molasses Flood of 1919 - stuck watching with no shot of escape.If I ever actually finish this project, I'll update my review.

Not even the measurements are in English. Makes it difficult to get cord ready.

This honestly just needs a better tutorial, the video instructions are definitely lacking. I slowed the video all the way down to .25 speed and still couldn't figure out what she was doing. I wound up winging the whole thing and just did my thing from watching other tutorials on YouTube.I edited my review because the company is trying to make things right with me. So good company and good quality. Now that I've done a few projects, I don't really need the tutorial so much. I would definitely buy again.

It wasn’t what I expected, no written instructions, the video wasn’t very clear so I had to adjust it. But it turned out okay, sorry no pictures. For a beginner’s project I think it’s okay

Not for beginners.There are no written instructions.One more time for the people in the back.THERE ARE NO WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS!!!You get all the supplies (no glue) and a single glossy piece of paper with a pic of the final project, a cut list for the cord, and a QR code to a YouTube video that does a terrible job walking thru the steps. You will end up searching other videos for more step by step macramé tutorials just to get it done. Major PIA. Not for beginners.

No instructions!! Only has link to a YouTube video that is too fast and hard to follow. The hands tying the knots are off camera so you can’t even see what they’re doing. Definitely not for beginners. I have rope burn on my fingers from undoing so many knots to try again.

Instructions are virtually non existent. It includes a couple of pictures and a link to a you tube video that it difficult to follow. You are watching someone in real time do knots that you are not familiar with. It is not slowed down to allow you to see how they are done. Not suitable for a beginner.

I like the kit, but bought it because of the cute little owl that was supposed to be in it. It was missing from the package, so that was a big disappointment!

It was fun to do but we need more of a diagram to be able to work on it
