Works on 2009 Chevy Silverado 5.3
This product is well worth the money compared to the OEM version which cost hundreds more. And it's simpler to use. I've heard people say the seal will center itself and there's no need for the alignment tool but they're wrong. Im speaking from experience. Maybe they got lucky with theirs but its not worth the risk considering the work involved. This tool will center the seal plate perfectly and also install the seal into the plate afterwards. This is a high quality tool made to exacting tolerances considering its simplicity. This tool could easily sell for $100 IMO.

Used it on my 08 LS7, worked good

ID little tight
For centering it works great. But for install the ID is a little too tight. pinched my seal while installing and had to get another. I went ahead and turned the ID down just a touch in my lathe. No reason the ID on the install side should be so tight.

LS rear seal alignment tool
This tool works great. Must use this tool when installing the rear seal. Tried installing it first with out it. And it leaked bad. Had to start over & use the alignment tool. No leaks now 👍

Great for cover alignment and seal installation.
This tool is great for both cover alignment and final seal installation. I strongly suggest using this or similar tools to properly align and bolt-in rear main cover first, and then install rear main seal as per GM guidences instead of trying to install rear main seal and rear cover as a one part.

Good to install the cover with the seal removed from the seal plate
Tool seems great to align the rear main seal cover plate on the GM LS engines. If you have the Seal already installed in your plate the Tool does not work at all. I installed one with the seal out and this worked very well I did another 6.2L Escalade rear seal and I bought the Dorman complete unit, new rear main seal cover plate with the new Seal installed. The new seal would have been damaged if I tried to remove it so I skipped using the new tool and let the seal find center on its own. carefully tightened the bolts into the block first to hold the plate centered and then tightened the two long bolts into the pan. No leaks on both engines so either way works. Tool is well made just know it has use limitations. If you are just installing a new rear main seal and not pulling the rear cover off this tool would work nice for tapping the new seal into place without damage.
