Tattle Tea Apricot Black Tea, 2 Pound

What a let-down! A sucker for apricots, apricot jam, and apricot tea since childhood, I bought this tea based on the very positive reviews here, but whatever I came to expect as a result of these reviews, I cannot find.When I opened the bag for the very first time, my sense of smell was confronted with a pleasant, albeit very strong, bouquet of fragrances. While I could certainly pick up on the apricot, the other fragrances weren't quite as easy to pick out, and the overwhelming impression was one of sweetness (that is, sugary, not cute or pleasant). Standing about four feet away when I opened the bag, my wife reacted quite differently and asked bluntly, "What is that?! That's so such a strong smell... It seems artificial - is it?"Sure enough, this tea is prepared using natural *and* artificial flavors, along with black tea and apple - but there no apricot. That artificial flavor was used is far from obvious; other than on the label on the bag (which is hard to read on Amazon's web site), it does not appear anywhere in the product description. To be sure, a few reviews do make mention of this fact but, again, its absence from the product description seems, quite frankly, wrong. (The flavor bouquet, which initially was rather pleasant, now strikes me as sickly sweet.)As I prepared to drink the tea for the first time, I fully expected I'd be able to taste the apricot - alas, this was not to be. There's some flavor or other in there, and it's not unpleasant, but it isn't apricot.I've had five cups of this "apricot tea" now, and think that that'll suffice for a taste test. What a let-down!

A lot of tea for the money. Has pieces of dried fruit but I don't think there is any apricot derived pieces. Fruity taste with a bit of tartness.

I've always been partial to the apricot flavor, and since they started infusing tea with it, apricot tea has been my favorite. This tea meets my expectations and the two-pound size for the price exceeds them. That said, I take about three ounces out of the bag and freeze the rest to keep it fresh, and it was fresh when I got it.

This is a high quality tea that I use to make hot and cold tea. The taste is delicate with a true taste of apricot. My favorite for iced tea! That said, I have to say that my wife doesn't like it. She doesn't like the taste of apricots in general. I do so when I make up a batch I have it all to myself.I have purchased and used other styles of Tattle teas. All have been of the highest quality and never disappoint. It is hard to beat the price too.

Outstanding taste. Nothing bitter about it when brewed properly. I use it strictly for Iced Tea without sugar nor sweeteners, so I can't accurately speak to how it would be hot.I've tried enhancing it with others floral teas for curiosity sake, but nah they got it right.Upon close examination, there was little in the way of second cuttings and stems. If this isn't a Pekoe tea, it's very close. This is an underrated tea, but that's OK with me, it means I can always purchase more.

Excellent quality , value, and taste. Same as the tea I was purchasing for more than 5 times the cost from a specialty tea shop. I wouldn't be surprised if they were buying the tea this way and repackaging. I did a side by side comparison and could not detect any difference in taste, odor, or appearance. I repackaged it in ziplock bags and froze most of it for later use.

I love this tea!!!! A brisk black tea with a tasteable touch of apricot. Not so much apricot that is overwhelms. My wife and I drink a lot of tea in the summer and Tattle Teas provide a diverse selection. Great quality and reasonable prices. Not cheap by any means, but not "tiny" bits of tea that never brew properly. Their teas have actual leafs!! Just a fine tea.
