Fun game
I played this first at a game conference, and liked it enough that I got a copy. It was a 3 day conference and this is the only game I played that I chose to buy.I have 50 games at home and enjoy mid-weight, table-hog games. I had also been to Japan recently and like the theme. This is not a huge table hog, but it has a good center playing board. You travel around in a loop collecting/leveraging resources.

Quite fun!
This game is quite fun, I've played it with 3 players a couple times so far. Increasing character experience to retirement quickly seems important for maximizing income...but should it be for money or points?? Seems like the winners have gotten more points income, and yet, you need money to buy other point goodies. Still working on good strategy!

My gaming group asked to play it again.
My gaming group doesn't always like the games I show up with. Sometimes I can't convince them to try a game, or they ask that I pull out a different game. When I offered up Iki along with a couple of others they were a bit dubious. The idea of being a merchant/shopkeeper in Edo centuries ago seemed rather mundane. But they agreed to learn the game and were soon trying to come up with strategies to maximize their points in the short 12 turns they had.And as soon as the game was over, they asked to set up the game and play again. They enjoyed the game. Its not perfect. There are a few timing issues that the rules don't make completely clear, and it can be a bit intimidating to teach. But once people figure out how it works the game is quite fun.Definitely going into my regular rotation of games I bring to my group.

Great game..faulty board
Awesome game but the board was warped to the point it will not sit flat on the table!! Contacting Amazon about this specific issue is absolutely impossible so I guess we are stuck with a faulty product.

Go for it
Received in perfect quality. For some reason we expected it to be around ticket to ride difficulty - which turned out to be much higher than that; the game turned out to be pretty complicated for newer board game players. But all in all, the game is absolutely amazing, great artwork, very replayable, it's been half a year since the initial purchase and my friends and I still have great time with it. Can't recommend enough.
