Easy to Read & a Definite for Acid Reflux or Gerd Sufferers
As an acid reflux sufferer, this book is quick easy to read with helpful information. The book begins with explaining acid reflux and gerd and the symptoms. It is not just an inconvenience but if left untreated can become more serious or a disease of cancer. I like how it has a section titled 10 simple steps to prevent acid reflux.Broken down into sections, this book is great as you can reference what you need. For example, describing the symptoms of acid reflux and gerd and tips to prevent these issues is detailed in the book. One chapter talks about your diet and simple tips to change your diet so you don't suffer.I am going to try smaller meals and a log of what triggers my symptoms. The chapter that has a 14 day plan with food choices is just what someone needs who has acid reflux or gerd.I love how this book breaks down food recipes into chapters for Breakfast, Main Dishes & Snacks. I can't wait to try the turkey burger and Frittata for my family and myself. The Sweet Potato Wedges and Banana Snacks look easy to make and tasty too.A definite recommend!!

Research-minded Approach to Fight Acid Reflux
If you’re looking for more than a cookbook, if you’re looking for a guide (in its words, a “battle plan,”), if you’re looking for proven methods to fight rather than cope with the effects and symptoms of acid reflux, “Prevent Acid Reflux: Delicious Recipes to Cure Acid Reflux and GERD” is a good choice. Here are a few things I liked about the book:• Reading levels. It was a mixture of technical, scientific, and layman’s language.• The tone was sometimes whimsical, sometimes sarcastic. (“Still want a hamburger and fries? Then maybe you like being doubled over in pain.”)• Formats. Lists, questions and answers, bullets and numbered tips all make it easy to hop around on the page to find, to reference or to skim.• Advice. It can help self-diagnosis or to talk intelligently with your doctor.• Menus. I really liked the 14-day breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. It’s not just a list of recipes. It gave it a very actionable plan. What I didn’t like about the book:• Lack of sources. Research changes, so it would have been nice to know that this information was the latest and greatest. Still, the author wrote this with authority and that minimized some of those concerns.• The weighty science didn’t always appeal to me. It seemed to get bogged down, and the book felt bloated in some places. Saying that, if you’re the type of reader who needs to understand the research to help you make a decision, you would benefit from all these details.

"Prevent Acid Reflux Book" is an easy read packed with lots of helpful information about acid reflux and GERD.
I love the fact that this book explains in layman terms what acid reflux is and what causes it. Then this awesome book, Prevent Acid Reflux, gives you lists of foods to eat that are in the ph range of 7, same as our bodies' ph level, along with a 14 day diet plan.If you are not sure you have acid reflux, read chapter one which has the ten signs/symptoms you might have acid reflux. There are even instructions for giving yourself an at-home test for GERD with links to go purchase the ph strips needed for these tests.I cannot wait to start trying out all of the delicious and easy recipes listed in the part two section of this book, everything from breakfast meals, snacks, to dinners, and desserts.Overall, I am really happy that I bought this book from Amazon, this will definitely help me with my acid reflux problem.

Focuses on the pH level of food
This book was quite interesting. I had bad acid reflux when I was pregnant, both times, and I still have certain “trigger” foods that I can no longer eat as a result. This book focuses mostly on the pH levels of food. To prevent acid reflux you should stick to foods with a pH of no less than 5. It never occurred to me to check the pH of food, but it makes perfect sense since the pH number tells you the acidity. The recipes sound yummy but I probably won’t try too many of the meals since they almost all include onions and garlic, which happen to be my “trigger” food. However, I am looking forward to trying some Snickerdoodles for dessert.

Simple, informative and unique!
This book offers the essential medical information that anyone concerned with acid reflux would need to know. The information is very straightforward and can be easily understood by anyone. Main points are repeated so that there is no need to memorize this information, a single reading is enough to understand the condition and how it may apply to your life, yet it is a perfect book for referencing on a day-to-day basis. This is crucial in dealing with a problem that can so greatly impact your life or simply help in preventing its onset. The recipes in this cookbook are quite simple while still being unique and worthy of being in a high-class restaurant. For someone who is not dealing with serious acid reflux issues, I am excited to have this book on hand as a reference to incorporate these recipes into my family’s daily lifestyle.

Very good book
Firstly the criticisms are mostly unfounded, it would appear that the negative reviews are based on a misunderstanding of the text or the foodstuffs in some recipes being unpalatable!A careful reading and the application of some common sense will help you get to grips with this horrible condition, obviously some other conditions are not helpful - diabetes being a prime example - but all you need do is compare the two sets of ingredients and pick out the common onesDefinitely worth getting
