Interesting light up drawing device for children
When I opted to test and review this item for free as part of the Amazon Vine programme, I actually thought it was one of those shaped LED drawing and writing tablets for children. It is not. It is something slightly different. You can at time of review, get this device in both blue and pink; I opted for the blue version. The device is shaped like a cartoon dinosaur and comes with a set of cards (including a black one) with drawings on, a set of four markers (pink, green, blue and orange), two small cleaning cloths (as you get with a pair of spectacles) and two suction cups (so it can be applied to a surface). Before you get started, you need to remove the protective film from the screen and install three AAA batteries (not supplied); you will need a small Philips screwdriver (not supplied) to install the batteries. You then need to put one of the cards with the drawing on behind the screen -- there are holders on the back for this purpose -- and utilise the markers to trace the picture on the front of the screen. Once complete, take out the card at the back and replace with the plain black card. You then switch on at the back (button near the battery compartment) and this will light up the device. You can press the button at the base of the device to create different effects or change to a solid colour. You can also display your artwork as the device has feet at the bottom that you can use to stand it up.It is simple to clean with the cloths or use any cotton cloth you have. A damp cloth works well but be certain it is only damp and that you only use on the front of the screen and that you dry the screen immediately with another soft cloth. It does say that you can utilise other types of pens on the screen and gives directions on how to clean. I would suggest sticking with washable markers; I have a set of non-permanent glass pens that I will probably utilise with this.Priced at Β£12.99 at the time of this Amazon Vine review, this does not seem badly priced, and when you run out of the supplied images to trace then you can always freehand or find other images to trace -- the only limit is your imagination! I am pleased with this product and I am happy to recommend.

Works well but does have flaws
This is a little different to other drawing tablets, it's a clear and see through surface to draw on which lights up from the bottom. You get a number of images which are in a white background, you insert them into a slot art one side of the clear drawing area which gives you the ability to trace the image, you then take out the insert and replace with a black background. Once lit up the image seems to artist almost floating in front of the black background.Of course you don't need to trace the supplied cards and can just draw on the clear plastic layer.Supplied with the drawing table are 4 pens, the tablet and instructions. You can just wipe the drawing table with a normal wipe once you have finished with it and want to start a new one. There are no batteries supplied and it takes 3 x AAA batteries so you need to have some handy, the battery compartment needs screwdriver to get into which is not supplied. The lights have a number of modes and a number of different colours, however as it is lit from the bottom the light is not very even, and the glow just comes from the bottom. The effect is good but that light from the bottom lets it down, it's just too patchy and cheap feeling. It is really cute and our daughter lives his it looks and it's colour, definitely a fun design. It also has little feet to stand it up which is a great addition and they just swivel round and they are stable once out. It's a good idea if your child likes to trace and the effect is good once lit up if you don't look too hard. However it due dl a little like a gimick taste than something that will be constantly used.

Not a black background as it appears
Based on the photos I expected a black coloured backboard to this drawing tablet. I received a clear Perspex screen. It allows you to add sheets of printed card behind it but these are white!! Adding three batteries gives you the option of choosing your colour/ modes which are various flashing modes or static colours. The light on/off button is on the reverse and is hard for a little one to activate as you have to compress it down with a nail In order for it to stay down (not just a touch on/off button). When on this then illuminates the edge of the frame and drawing. If you donβt want to trace the outline designs it can be used as a freehand drawing screen. Various designs fromSpace to dinosaurs covered on the reversible sheets. You receive four pens which surprisingly are easy to clean off skin. The two wipes are for using wet and dry but we used a baby wipe between drawings and the cloths to dry as this was far quicker.Overall a decent lightweight drawing tablet but does require cleaning after each drawing. I prefer the magnetic lcd style ones better for speed, cleanliness and ease. Less chance of pen going everywhere with little ones.
