Window Switch Bezel for 03-08 Toyota Matrix & Pontiac Vibe - Replaces 74232-01030 (Driver Side) Front Left Door Armrest Panel

This was a perfect drop in replacement for the broken part. It was extremely easy to install and it's nice to not have the buttons disappear into the door every time I try to roll down the window.

Finish appears decent and part was packaged well doesn’t come with the three screws I need to install nor is there any mention of the size or type of screw needed. The reason I bought this is two of the three plastic OEM posts that the screws go into cracked over time on my 2006 Matrix. This obviously seems to be the weakest part of the design and if the posts crack the screws fall out. The bottom of the inside of the door has two drainage holes to prevent water from getting trapped inside the door and they also prevent screws that fall out from staying inside the door.I went to three local auto parts stores (O Reilly, Pep Boys and Auto Zone) plus Ace Hardware with the one screw that had still been attached and literally not ONE employee was familiar with this type of screw design to self tap into a thin plastic tube like structure or knew what this type of screw is called.

Took out the old one and snapped in the new one! Fit perfectly!!

I purchased a used 2005 Vibe (same as matrix) as a third car about 6 months ago. This bezel failed about two months in. The week point is were the switch module attaches at the top of the bezel. It is one contact point/ screw. I repaired it with a bead of hot glue and it has held but the bezel had been removed by the previous owner and a few of the tabs were broken causing the bezel to shift. The color is not the same as the OEM. It is a shade or two darker. Before installing I reinforced all contact points, including tabs, with a bead of hot glue around the base.

I saved the screws from the old part, so this wasn't an issue as it was for one of the other reviewers. However, it still didn't fit well.I couldn't figure out why, so I took out the switch part and did a "dry fit" so I could see through the holes. The plastic "clips" along the door side are too long. Also, the contour along the length of the driver's side doesn't match the contour of where it needs to connect.It slides in easily enough; however, when I "pull up" on the window switch, the whole part lifts up.I had ordered two, as a "just in case" because the plastic clips can break easily. I tried fitting both and each fit the same way. Both are going back.Hint for installation: there's a "clip" on the rear end behind the rear window switches that needs to slide in first, then you lower it down into the opening.UPDATE: For a few dollars more, you can buy a genuine part that fits much better. For example, there's a clip on the forward end of the part that's metal as opposed to plastic and it holds much better. Also, the slight curve better matches the contour of where it fits in. As others state, hold on to the metal clip from your old panel, this one does NOT come with it. This part came in a bag stating it is a genuine Toyota part. That is not true. The part numbers that would be stamped on it are missing. The usage of such a bag is false advertising. That being said, it works fine, though the bezel does have a slight overlap on one side but it can be forgiven.

Perfect but it came with a broken clip so doesn't stay clipped down but we wanted to cover the hole so we could use the controls so we could lock the car and use the window controls. So we use it as is. My husband things he can use duct tape some how to fix it. Normal guy responds.
