nicro Stainless Steel Day/Night Plus Vent, 4"

I have replaced these solar vents 5-times over the past 13-years with this same product. While I wished they lasted longer...they really are the best I’ve used. They typically last about 2.5 years. While the solar rechargeable batteries can be replaced, as any battery will only stand up to just do many charging cycles, I always opt for brand new units. They provide excellent “slow but steady” air flow on my 30-foot Hunter sailboat to keep mildew to a minimum. I highly recommend them.

Nice circulation of air in the interior of my catamaran.It’s very sensitive to light and the fan spins most all the time.Having continuous air circulating in my boat’s interior is essential to lessen the humidity and keep its contents from rusting and rotting.

When I installed this it was dead but the instructions said it could take up to a week for the batteries to charge. We left to go to the Bahamas right after we installed it and the thing never did work. It was like pulling teeth to get Amazon to give me the vendors phone number and part number so I can chase down a replacement battery. At $180 dollars I now have to pay for a new battery. Not impressed with either Amazon or Nicro. Would not purchase again.

These have always been overpriced for the plastic construction that they are. However, they are the only game in town. The battery came dead and unchargeable. Had to order a new chargeable battery for it, before it would work as advertised. Had the impression these sit on the shelves for years before being sold.

Photo showed an old style Nicro brand vent, which is what I wanted to replace an old malfunctioning version. Delivery revealed a Marinco brand. Not a major issue for the price, but it means more work to replace the old vent...

Works great. You have to reach through the fan to turn it on and off. You need to remove the solar panel to anchor it down.

Vent was great, application into a boat hatch. Only problem was the battery did not accept a solar charge ( we gave it a week) so we had to replace the battery. Otherwise a great little fan.
