Ancestor Approved: Intertribal Stories for Kids

I’m a teacher. This book was a perfect edition to my middle school library. I’m trying to make it more inclusive and also help my students explore other cultures. Perfect book for all of that.

It has an age range, but adults should read it first to be sure that the kid is mature enough for this book. It tackles reality and describe kids expressing feelings while telling amazing stories.

Very uplifting stories anyone can relate to! I highly recommend this book and purchased it for my local library

My kids and I read this book recently as part of our homeschool. The stories in it are all separate, but connected by a powwow in Michigan. We enjoyed finding the connections between each of the stories. We also took some time to look up some of the regalia mentioned, as well as listen to some of the music. Recommended.

This book was fantastic! I really enjoyed reading it, and look forward to sharing it with my children. It tells so many different stories, and brings forth sincere empathy for each character. It's a great reminder how we can all show up to the same place from very different paths, and that everyone is on a journey.

Used at school

As a Native born & raised on pow-wows, this book brought joy to my heart. I bought it as a gift for my Granddaughter. I have read every book that I buy her before giving it to her so that I can deem it appropriate. I cannot recommend this book strongly enough!

Liked that the stories were all centered around the same place.Used the product to gather thoughts.Liked the characters and liked that the book met the reader rather than lectured her.
