Welcome To Fin City/Live From Las Vegas, Oct. 2011

Full disclosure...I've been a serious parrothead for most of my life. I own all his albums (including special editions, not available in the US, etc)....but reality check - while JB makes some great music, he makes GREAT music live in concert. And yeah, listening to JB on a "live at" CD, it's just not the same.And along comes Fin City. Ohhhhhhhh yeeaaaahhhh (said to the sound of the end music in Ferris Bueller's Day Off...bop bop!). This is a high quality HD video with GREAT sound...giving you the true concert experience (assuming you have the sound system and video system to handle it). For parrotheads with a BD player, this is SOOOO not a decision to dwell on. Do it. Do it now.Oh...for the two of you left that don't have a BD player. Really? Why? That said, JB thought of you too. The package includes a CD of the same concert. So. Again. Do it. Do it now.

Just like all of Jimmy Buffett I love it

This cd/dvd set is another welcome addition to the live concert work of Jimmy Buffett. On the positive side the concert dvd sounds the best of any Jimmy Buffett dvd that I have. On the negative side the dvd only runs for a bit over an hour. As good as that hour is surely the concert was longer than this.Jimmy is in fine form as always and the band is it's usual stellar self. Good choice of songs with a few of them not appearing on other concert dvd's.Definitely worth a buy.

Even though this is not the whole show, seeing 65 minutes of this great show is 65 minutes I wouldn't normally have seen and I'm so glad I bought this release. This is a fun, high energy show. Jimmy makes fun of his fall off the stage in Sydney and he genuinely seems to be enjoying himself in Las Vegas. The sound is terrific and the picture quality is top rate.There are many highlight songs on this release and I know it's a Blu ray that I'll watch over and over again. I'm pleased I bought it and I encourage all Parrotheads to do the same.Jimmy Buffett does seem to get better with age and the songs sound as fresh as they were when first released. A great concert.

This is another in the long line of fun Jimmy Buffett concerts on disc.Las Vegas is always a fun place to see Jimmy and that comes across in this combo.The package comes with a CD and a DVD so you can hear the fun and see it too.Like a lot of Jimmy's disks this is a combo of two shows to cover the best of what was played and enjoyed (minus margarittaville).Having seen one of the concerts in person, it was great to have this as a fun sounvenir.

Jimmy is in great form and sings his best-known hits. Crank up the volume and have a party!

Parrot Heads rejoice. He may grow older like the rest of us but his ability to provide an escape for his fans though catchy music and fun is on a level few other performers achieve. Who would have thought the boat drinks loving conquistador would be a hit in Bright Lights City.

Excellent disc combo! There's a lot of songs on his collection that he doesn't do it any other concert video. We have seen him at the MGM Grand twice in two years and this, even though it's nowhere near the complete concert, is an excellent representation of a parrot heads dream in Las Vegas. Fins up!

I think everything done by jb. is well worth watching and adding to my already large collection ofabout 90 items.

Enjoyed the concert and the sound and picture quality was great. Thought it was a rather short concert.

Jimmy Buffett und die Coral Reefer Band liefern aus meiner Sicht * schon seit Jahren * absolut großartige Live-Auftritte ab. Das ist auch bei "Welcome to Fin City - Live from Las Vegas 2011" nicht anders. Buffett ist in Hochform und hat einfach großen Spaß, das zu tun, was er mit am besten kann.Und er tut in "Fin City" auch das, was von ihm erwartet wird; nämlich seine Hits abzuliefern. Folglich fehlen "One Particular Harbour", "Fins" oder auch "Changes in Lattitudes, Changes in Attitudes" nicht. Dazu mischt Buffett neuere Songs ("Bama Breeze"), passende Songs ("Viva Las Vegas") oder z.B. das sehr gelungene Duett "Back where I come from" mit Mac McAnally.14 Songs auf der CD, 15 (incl. Bonus) auf der DVD; das ist ordentlich. Unterschiede zwischen CD und DVD sind: "Pencil Thin Mustache" (CD), "Knee Deep" (DVD), "Back where ..." (DVD), "School Boy Heart" (CD), "Defying Gravity" (DVD), "Elvis Presley Blues" (DVD).Fünf Sterne weil man * wenn man günstig kauft (Augen auf!) * viel Musik für einen fairen Preis bekommt. Wenn also schon alles von Buffett hat, wird man wohl kaufen (müssen?). Falls nicht, bekommt man gute Live-Musik; diese kommt allerdings meiner Meinung nach nicht an eine der besten Live-CDs, die ich kenne, "Feeding Frenzy" heran; mein persönlicher Tipp für Buffett-Einsteiger.Zusammengefasst: ein gelungener Ausflug in die "Fin City USA", Las Vegas.
