Great Deep House!
Is this album better than Tourist? No. But it is also a great album on its own. If you like Tourist, you will definitely appreciate the vibes of this record.

mostly really good
It starts off really good but then there's a "nod" to "aliens" I want to forget! I'm listening to it now and it just gets better.

Good follow-up
Finally tracked down Ludovic Navarre's most recent "St. Germain" CD (although it been some years after its initial release). Not quite as impressive as the first CD, "Tourist", but still a very good album. Hopefully Mr. Navarre and Co. will turn out something new in the near future.

Jazz Me Up
I picked up St. Germain's "Tourist" album and fell in love with it immediately. This is his debut album which received quite praise in Europe when released back in 1995. This album is not filled with as many upbeat vibes as "Tourist" and is more jazz-based with subtle house rhythms. Miles Davis would be proud if he heard this CD but it is far enough from straight-up jazz for house music fans as well. Those looking for an upbeat, techno-oriented album will be disappointed. While not the same mood of "Tourist" this album has it's own unique mood and is still great. While "Tourist" will receive all the attention, St. Germain fans should still check out this album. Boulevard is simply another fine album by St Germain
I really enjoyed the album "Tourist" and Boulevard is simply another fine album by St Germain. It's not identical in expression to the Tourist cd but that's a good thing because it shows the range of the artist. Where as Tourist had more of a Jazzy-Blues feel to it, Boulevard has more of a Deep House flavor to it.

Reference sound quality, spacious, open, transparent a sound-stage to revel in, a must get recording
The bass is literally capable of dropping animals at 20 paces! The sound on this recording is WOW, deep, precise, controlled balanced. The drums have real presence without dominating. The shear clarity of the recording draws the listener in. The music? Well try it you may be surprised if your system is good enough.I have not set out to write reviews of the music content as “beauty is in the ears of the listener”. These reviews are about the quality (or not) of the recorded sound. To read about how the reviews are done please see my profile. • Clarity – Superb • Channel separation - excellent • Channel balance – excellent, instruments beautifully placed underpinned by well defined bass beats • Sound Stage – outstanding a marvellous mix, broad, detailed and so wide. A sound-stage to revel in • Distortion – non audible • Compression – non audible, tremendous highs and lows combined with absolute clarity • Atmosphere – little is more, spacious, open, transparent revealing • Bass – low frequencies – slamming, literally capable of dropping animals at 20 paces! Smooth detailed insistent, precise. Quite simply a wow! • Treble – high frequencies – beautifully balanced clear and detailed. Not shrill or tiring • Vocals – rich mature, tonal, gravelly, definitely interestingAs a general rule of thumb recordings from the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s are nearly always better on the original vinyl. Remasters often fail to please as it’s just not possible to make a silk purse from a sows ear, i.e. the original recording lacks the necessary detail to be processed digitally and show an audible improvement. Indeed such processing can make the sound worse.Modern recordings which have been processed digitally from start to finish can be as good as vinyl. CD’s are often unfairly criticised for being poor quality. This is not the case, it is the original recording or the process which is to blame. Modern “remasters” can both enhance and degrade a recording. The statement GIGO (Garbage In Garbage Out) is the limiting factor. Ignore this at your cost.

Music for chilling-out
My favourite St Germain album and agree with most of the reviews on Amazon. My only reservation is the very prominent basscontent which for me is a little too prominent. As I do most of my listening in the evening or late evening, I am aware that this mightbe annoying for my neighbours. Overall though I like this album, and the bass issue might be less of a problem for other people, sorecommended with reservations.

Cool Jazz
Have had Tourist CD since we first heard it on a beach holiday in Turkey, Decided to buy Boulevard and like it as much if not more than Tourist. Great for background sound for evening BBQ parties or just chilling out. Great.
