Loved this Book Because I Love this Park the Most!
I agree with Randi Minetor when she states in her book that Zion is her favorite of the many national parks she's been to visit. Death in Zion National Park was quite interesting to read. I like the way she divided the book up into sections covering every possible way people were killed there. And it makes it easy to discern which areas were the most dangerous. Her book portrays the hapless souls who perished with much respect and gives them life again. Reading it made me feel that their deaths were not in vain since we all can learn from their mistakes. Her tips at the end of the book were quite helpful and I'll take heed of them the next time I visit ANY park or wilderness area. The photo, one of so many, was taken back in 2010 by my husband when he, our dog, and I spent some time in Zion.

How to Not Die in The Great Outdoors by not doing what these Victims do.
A compendium of deaths in Zion National Park. In addition to what you'd expect to find in a book with this title (death by nature, foolhardiness) it also covers real wold demise - murder, vehicular, and work related in ZNP.The author tries to liven up his characters by giving personality sketches. This succeeds to some extent but also assumes knowledge and motives about individuals that may or may to be the case.On the whole this book is useful and interesting. The reminder that following advice and safe practices in the outdoors can almost ensure accident free visits to our national parks is good for all. Reading about dumb decisions and risky behavior underscores the cost associated with drawing outside of the lines and this is useful to casual visitors to the outdoors. The macabre fascination most find with high falls and canyon catastrophes is well satisfied by these stories.

Quick, informative read
If you're looking for a very tidy, quick summary of every visitor's death in Zion National Park, then this your book. Its extraordinarily researched and the author's source notes are, frankly, invaluable to those who want a deeper dive.

Excellent Chronicle of Deaths & Dangers in Zion
Another excellent book from author Randi Minetor, this one covering deaths in Zion National Park. This book is a cautionary one, naming the various ways people have died in the park. Many are due to carelessness, ignoring ranger's advice and more. The author doesn't want to scare people away, but to inform them of the dangers that exist and to take special care. A book park goers and others interested should read.

Stories from familiar areas
We live in Southern Nevada and go up to Zion a couple of times a year to hike. It was very interesting to read this book and learn about the sad & unfortunate deaths that have happened to many people who visit here. If you plan to visit Zion, or have been in the past I would recommend this book as you will be familiar w/ many of the locations.

Well written and engaging
Well written and engaging, really makes the reader appreciate Zion. Done just right for this series, just the right amount of background and research included in the stories, with nice touches of caring and humor where appropriate. Summary and guidelines at the end very helpful. There is a binding flaw (some wrong pages inserted by printers) which is being addressed, but that shouldn't stop anyone from getting the book.

Another Adventurous Read from Randi Minetor!
Rarely is the writing in a non fiction book so engaging and descriptive. There was obviously a great deal of research done, but her personal experience and empathy added the extra touch! This is another of Ms. Minetor's factual, interesting and entertaining National Park masterpieces. I will continue to watch this author and look forward to future releases.
