Hanukkah! Book review
I was very pleased with this book. I think the story itself is very cute and age-approriate for the target audience. I purchased it because I wanted a book to take to my daughter's preschool for a Hanukkah celebration to help the children learn more about what the holiday is and why it is observed. I don't think the story itself actually does the best job of "explaining" the holiday but like I said the story is very cute. There is a section on the back cover that does do a really nice job of giving a better history of Hanukkah and why it is celebrated and when I went into my daughter's preschool I actually started with that part first and then read the story and I think it went over really well with them. I may have substituted a word here and there but overall I was very, very pleased. Great book to have for any family that celebrates Hanukkah.

Great book for teaching
I am a preschool teacher and used this book in a week long unit. Not only did we read it numerous times but my 4 and 5 year old students loved it every time. It not only educated them but entertained as well. I highly recommend this book.

A delightful Hanukkah book
My grandchildren loved Hanukkah! by Roni Schotter and I loved reading this book to them. The book portrays a loving family with a baby that can’t pronounce the word, Hanukkah till that end of the story which is very funny and reminds me of my children & grandchildren when they were this age. You really feel the joy of the holiday throughout the book .The illustrations are magnificent and it’s a great story to read outlloud because the language is so charming. This is a great choice for schools and libraries too because of the informative back matter about Hanukkah at the end of the book.Highly recommend

My daughter LOVES this book
A friend gave this book to my daughter when she was a year old and about to celebrate her first Hanukkah. The book is cute, but I didn't think there was anything extraordinary about it. My daughter, however, disagrees. She is now almost 2-1/2. Every night I let her pick which books she wants to read before bedtime. This book makes it into the rotation EVERY week (sometimes several nights a week). There is just something about the book that she absolutely loves. Our original copy of the book has a few missing/torn pages...my daughter likes it so much that I decided I had to order another copy.
